He looked around drowsily. This place felt familiar, in an old, forgotten way. The great black
Waking up, in pain and out of breath. He’s not there. Where? Running, seeking by scent. An icy feeling creeping into his throat, down to his chest, curling around his heart. Constricting his lungs. Where is he?
universe, sprinkled with stars, was comforting. It reminded him of… what? Childhood? He walked around, trying to get his bearings.
Dead boy, colder than cold, unharmed and soulless under the oak tree. Not a scratch, but no habitual breathing. No smile, both eyes shut, lashes touching cheeks. No sound.
He looked ‘down’ and saw that he was standing on solid rock. Or, a rock. That was
Craving. Wanting more and more. Eyes the color of rust, blood singing, screams at all angles. Terror washing over him, and he’s lapping it in. He grins, throws back his head and laughs and the bodies, the sky, the crimson ground all laugh with him.
part of a smattering of floating (Floating?) rocks, all stringing away from a large forked plateau of sorts, above everything else and containing two gates on either side of the fork. One gate was a black, smoky shadow, red tinting its door. The other was a silver gold vapor, giving off a radiant glow.

“The child is mine to keep,†Ianua growled. “He’s violated the code. He became a Harvester. He killed thousands, brother. Thousands of souls are lost forever.†Now his tone was sorrowful, plaintive. “And the poor kitten didn’t even find the one he wanted.â€
Girincar snarled at Ianua. “I am his keeper, brother. The child is mine to care for; my responsibility. He still has seven more lives. Just because he became one of those, doesn’t mean that his other lives are unaccounted for—â€
Contego interrupted him, “What makes you think he wants to live those lives? He’s lost the person who was most important to him, otherwise he wouldn’t have become a Soul Harvester—and yes, I realize that this places him in your… affectionate hands, Ianua. But he is among the cattus, and we cannot ignore those lives that he has left. Or would you disregard Mother’s own decree?â€
Ianua cringed.
“Thus, my point. This is a unique case, one that can only be decided by the Valiant herself.â€
