The hand of strength unoffered,
The prayer unsaid of late,
The voice of cheer yet silent,
And still time does not wait.

The noise of stife undaunted,
Unknown, the calm of peace;
The cry for help unanswered,
And yet time does not cease.

The word of love unuttered
For what of word to say;
So also words of friendship
But time does not delay.

The thousand deeds of living
That now are all undone
Will surely not remain so -
And still time passes on.
