Despite being a machine, Babbage possesses a very rare gift for a creature of wood and metal - a sense of humour. He tries to do standup comedy acts with his partner Higgs - as a coal fiend, he enjoys a good laugh at anybody's expense. Unfortuately, Babbage is somewhat handicapped by his unusual appearance; as most people do not immediately find giant robotic insects humourous. Still, he does not let this deter him from his ultimate goal of writing and starring in his own sitcom.
