It's never fun to be the runt of the litter.
Being surrounded at all times with tons of brothers and sisters is overwhelming even for the most patient sibling. Being surrounded by brothers and sisters who are all bigger and stronger than you is even worse.
Everything is a battle. Getting food, drinking water, getting attention from Mom or other people. And don't get me started on going outside. There are enough paw prints on my back to prove that.
Seeing that i'm the smallest means that i'm also not up for playing with my brothers and sisters. They all want someone who can pull their own weight, who can take play fighting.
They don't want to hear,
"Watch out for Tohopka."
"Don't step on Tohopka."
"Tohopka can't play that game with you. She's too small."
So, for the most part I'm usually alone.
I would love nothing more than to be able to play and be with my siblings. I want them to look at me and see me for something more than 'just the runt'.
They would if I were a superhero, though.
Superheroes aren't tiny and weak, they're big and strong. They can jump over buildings and fight crime. They're super cool and super tough. Bad guys fear them and good guys look up to them.
Nothing is hard for a superhero. They can chase super fast. They can be gentle with loved ones and tough with bad guys. They can be super strong and are super famous too. Everyone loves superheroes.
They want to be protected by them. To eat with them and play with them too.
And that's what I would love to be.
