There was once a little gull
Who was found and raised by a pirate crew
She lived among the rigging of their vessel
And loved them well.

On a hunt for treasure in the deepest north
The crew was lost, and ship frozen fast
The gull flew, seeking aid, until her wings grew heavy with ice
And she was forced to walk across the glacial ground

A snow goddess found her, cold and alone
Touched by the bird's bravery, she agreed to help
She freed the pirates' ship from its glacial trap
but could not return their beloved companion

For the gull's blood had cooled, and she lay dying
The fairy made her immortal by gilding her soul with frost
And so bound her spirit to the north
with feathers like icicles and a voice like wind

Pirates still venture northwards in search of treasure
And always look to the rigging for the brave gull
Who is said to guide all vessels through the northern seas
and return them to warmer waters with their plunder
