Pastillage, pronounced PAHS-tee-AHJ, is a type of sugar-based dough used to make edible decorations.

Deep in the forest, there is a very tall, very wide hollow tree named Amius, who is the oldest and wisest tree in the entire land, and is also home to many of the small forest creatures. At the top of the tree sits a golden bee hive, in which lives the confectionery genius known as Pastillage. Pastillage wasn't born in the forest though, he stumbled upon it while on the run from some very unsavory characters from the city where he had lived most of his young life as a thug. He was half dead and badly beaten when he landed at Amius' roots, but he had a special aura about him that caught Amius eye, so he called upon the forest creatures to help nurse Pastillage back to health, and give him a home at the top of the tree. Though the others treated him as one of them, he knew he could never truly be a forest creature, given their appearance; every one of them was covered in mossy green fur, with beautiful flowers growing from their bodies. He was always saddened by this fact, but never spoke a word of it aloud.
Pastillage spends most of his time alone in his hive, baking and decorating up a storm for the creatures who live in the forest to thank them for saving his life, but his busiest time of year is their annual festival, which takes place on the birthday of Amius. On that day there is music, wonderful food, stories and even a play, but what everyone really enjoys most are the cakes that Pastillage spends weeks preparing. One year on the day of their festival, Amius wanted to surprise Pastillage with a gift; a visit to Peka Glade to swim in its waters and cleanse himself of his worldly troubles, and begin anew. Shivering with sheer joy, Pastillage followed the forest creatures to Peka Glade when they left him alone to swim in its waters.
Later he returned to the forest, where Amius and all of the creatures waited with great anticipation, and thanked them all with tear-filled eyes. He was truly a forest creature now; was truly home.
