Personality: Solely dependent on who he's interacting with. He can be gentlemanly, approachable, good-humored and mild-mannered. He's efficient and methodical in his pursuits, ambitious and proud, eloquent, immoral and selfish. He will not hesitate to cut you (in strategic places) should you get in his way. He understands feelings intellectually; he can't be bothered with empathy, unless it's suited to his motivations. Torture -- whether it be psychological or physical -- is his specialty, and one of the few joys he finds in life is his interest in pushing people to their breaking points. He is cautious to the point of paranoia. There are very few people he can trust, all in which can be fitted into either two categories: the dumb or the dead.

Representative animal: Some small, melanistic regal-looking wildcat. I wish ocelots are melanistic because that's what Des would be. No proof so far.

HISTORY;

It's another story about a boy going from rags to riches.

Desmond is the son of a whore. His father is a successful businessman of chain of Japanese hotels and clubs. Mr. Yamagata was also a renown playboy of his time, and Des is but another product of one of his many flings. The difference between Des and the string of bastard sons and daughters was a woman named Miss Annabel Bisset, an American escort who used her sex, charm, and exceptional good looks as leverage over Mr. Yamagata. Within a few years of reunion, Miss Bisset rose to status with grace, dignity, and above all, discretion. Having schooled Des in all manners cultural, social, and political gave young Desmond a huge advantage over his brothers and sisters. Coupled with his natural cunning, his good looks and his lack of remorse in stabbing people (literally and figuratively, but most importantly of all -- discreetly) in the back, and you have on your hands a genteel and dangerous young man. Mr. Yamagata recognized these traits (no doubt he saw himself in the young boy) and as such, appointed him heir to his flourishing industry.

Of course, that is no guarantee that Des (renamed Daisuke by his father) will inherit his father's fortune, especially if you're dead. And Des, despite his sociable and otherwise pristine demeanor, has plenty of enemies to watch out for.

In fantasy roleplays, Des' father is a fox demon (famously known as the kitsune). Des inherited none of his father's powers, save for three skills: the ability to perform fragile illusions, the ability to instill nightmares on sleeping individuals, and the necessity to get laid at least once a week (much to Des' chagrin; sex is, on a whole, a disgusting and messy experience for him).
