Welcome! Welcome! So glad you've stopped by!
My name is Emmalyn. I am the local knitting nut. I just love to turn lovely yarns into something wonderful.
What's that you ask? Oh my fur! Why thank you for noticing! I was born a Common Devonti but I just felt so lack luster and ... well ... Common! So I started stitching in the scraps of yarn remnants from my projects. Just breathtaking aren't they?
See this scrap? This one is from the yarn my grams gave me when I was first learning to knit. Grams showed me the basics, and taught me that different yarn has a certain feel and can be used for different things. She helped me with my first projects. First, just a square. Then, a blanket. And so on. This scrap is from that lovely pink and green square that she later used as a pot holder. It's kind of soft still. Although I've repaired it here and there, I always leave the mistakes it has always had. Every time I touch this scrap, I remember how proud she was of me for trying my hardest at something.
Ohhh ... And this one! This one is from the very first doll I made for Muggin. I remember that day. Muggs was so sad that day, someone had been making fun of him for loving dolls. They said that dolls were for girls and girls only. As I sat and cradled Muggs, he stroked my yarns scraps and said 'I wish I had a doll like this. It's so soft and dreamy.' And that started it. We picked the colors, and a design. Then I stitched and stitched. The reds and blues were lovely and they came together. I remember how happy that little doll made my Muggs, and how he proudly carries that special doll with him to show others that dolls can be for everyone.
And that patch. Well that one is from the yarn Kenadee gave me when we were making some beautiful scarves together. Kena asked me to help her with her runway show. When I saw the models in the beautiful clothes, I noticed their necks looks so blah. So Kena and I doodled a few things and this beautiful wrap scarf was born. They were silky, shimmery, and just exquisite. Kena gave me all the scraps of all the colors, and I knitted them together. It's like a small rainbow of my own. Can you see the sparkle from there? Stunning isn't it?
There is a story behind each and every inch of my yarn covered fur. Oh goodness ... the memories these scraps carry. I could go on for days.
Want to help me add some more?
I simply love to stitch and weave together the things i see in my dreams.
