Gray bounced around the room... something was amiss. One, two, three times... she passed by the window again: where was her couch?!
I gave mom my best WTF face, and all she did was tell me to get comfy! Where does she expect me to do that without my couch?!?!?

day 1 for mom:

gray is moved to the kitchen for safety (.. the safety of my sanity, she's a runner and an escape artist) while the old couch is removed. her beloved cushions and pillows are kept for maximum comfort during the transition. blanket that was on the couch is placed on the cushions, which are on the floor where the couch was for gray to lay on. included is gray's favorite stuffed animal. i'm sure she'll settle down soon...
● WTF face every time i try and get her to lay down
● 3 hour in, she's lying on the floor dejectedly, looking at the cushions
● 7 hours later, it's time to sleep. she took the blanket off the cushions and pushed them around the room like "i don't want this shit!"

day 1 for gray:

... why am i in here with no food????? can i get into my snacks???? (no) i'm gonna try, i smell CHICKEN!!! (i failed) ...

... i think the couch has been missing for a week, what was mom thinking!? ...

... has it been a year with no couch!?? oh, woe is me ...

... W T F ...

the couch "returned" the following day. i was immediately suspicious. it didn't smell like me, and it didn't have the 'hole' i had molded into the fabric to hide my treats. mom expects me to sit here, she even put my unwashed blanket - even though it's blanket washing day, and my favorite toy on this couch.... but something's amiss. maybe if i keep barking, everything will become normal again...

i've figured it out! it's a new couch! i can't believe mom tried to trick me. i guess i can sit on this, i jumped up while mom was at work and well, it was pretty comfortable. don't tell her though, it's our secret!

this is my favorite couch!!!! i get great sleeps. maybe mom should get a new couch more often...
