Asylum

You've wandered into the dining area. While some patients are strictly fed in their rooms for a variety of reasons others are allowed this normalcy of a social visit. Currently the room is devoid of people. Seemingly safe you look over the porcelain plates, the dainty colored tea cups, and the amazing matching teapots. In the center of the table is a rather large teapot accompanied by a smaller one sitting in front to the left of it.
The lid is jiggling somehow.

Your finger goes to stop it from moving by pressing down on it. While it does stay still the spout makes a sharp wheeze as the air shoots through it. Curiously you take off the lid and inside is this little creature. Coiled up on the bottom of the larger teapot is Theodell. She looks like a normal dog in every way except for two; her back fur coloring and the obvious, her size. The little dog could fit into the palm of your hand if you were to hold her. You are very tempted to do so. Before you can reach with your finger to stroke the sleeping pups fur the smaller of the teapots lid flies up and heavily smacks into your hand. There's a growling black lion like creature even smaller then Theodell.
His name is Hush for reason.

Hush's cheeks puff out then he releases a molten hot liquid into your face. You scream, fall back, and smash your head into the wall behind you. The last thing you respond to is the smell of sweet herbal tea coming from you badly wounded eyes.

Main

Hand sliding under his she smiled up at him. Both were just sitting with their backs against the large maple tree. The branch stretched outward almost in a straight line, giving the area below the perfect amount of shade. The man next to her tightened his fingers so they were now locked together. The fist was between them. Neither of them could look at each other. If they did they'd laugh at how scarlet the other was. Soft wind, clean air, trying to focus on any of these things right now was near impossible. They both were desperately trying to think of a way to break the silence. To each their own they turned to face the other, eyes closed of course, then kissed.

This is the story of Theodell and Hush.

Their history together was long. The times they spent by each others side were deep. Though none of it had been dipped in the sort of amity that is was now. Since their first meeting they always knew they'd be the type of companions who could sit in silence together without ever growing bored. Now, now things were different. Now instead of just existing on the side of the other they could be joined. A marriage with a silence wrapped around it. No minister or priest could bind them the way the fates have in their words. This silence bred between them could only be.

When approached by Unmitigated they didn't fight him. They didn't speak with him either. Even that man could tell they would be easy to confine so long as they were kept together. Theo and Hush could see in him a certain longing. One they hoped to never experience themselves. So the two were brought to the asylum. A place, they were told, where they could remain unharmed by the outer city. Not that they ever thought anyone would bring harm to them. After all neither of them had a particularity vicious power. Still being confined worried both. They wandered the hallways looking for a spot to settle down. During their ventures they quietly greeted the other residents. All whom seemed more playful then violent. As if they were all children to be watched rather then prodded.

After a time they settled in the dining room. Hush's specialty was making tea. Theodell's was drinking it. They would sit next to eat other sipping at the hot drink together. No one knew how many cups were consumed a day just that whenever they walked in this was normally the scene they saw. At night, however, the two would use their powers to sleep. Being a gentleman Hush would take a teapot adjacent to Theodell's. While she slept so soundly he would keep his ears perked up to listen for anyone approaching. Night were times for slumber not for trickery after all. Keeping an ear out also helped protect Theo from harm when a fellow resident may not be in the best of minds. While he was smaller than her, Hush had better experience with handling confrontations. So he slept, and even in his dreams guarded his love.

Not knowing it, Theo also did the same for Hush. A more sound sleeper then he she would wait until the lid was lifted and sure that the pursuer was in fact violent before making a move. Nothing to aggressive. From her mouth she would let a bubble go and pop into their face. This caused drowsiness, then sleep. Much safer then Hush's little attack. Still, she did not worry at all. No one bore a grudge against them. They could see it in their eyes whenever they would come during the day. Theo and Hush were people watchers after all. Giving them small smiles of comfort, never mocking anyone. Getting smiles back in return with the same subtle expressions.

Some time afterward things became so routine. Daylight they would sit quietly together, Sunset they would rest. Though unknown to everyone else, this was perfect for them. Both happily continued the cycle without having any wants or needs. One morning they climbed out of their respected teapots. Hush shaking off his sleep and sliding his little lion tush onto the table. Theodell climbing out just enough to wear the lid like a helmet, yawning in a very un-lady like manner. Hush stood up on her teapot giving her a paw of help. She touched it with her own smiling.

After lifting herself out the two began to change back into human form. Strangely enough Hush had never let go of her hand, and she hadn't even thought of letting go of his. Together they quietly took seats in front of their teapots. Theodell brought both of the lids back on top of the pots where they belonged. That's when Hush nabbed her other hand. She looked at him on impulse. A few non-existent questions showed on her face. The most prominent being a simple, 'What?' Hush moved close to her, nudging their noses together. Sending both of their faces into the scarlet red color. Neither moved away, just closer. Their kiss had been so far from the last.
This one marked an anniversary, and suddenly,
their routine didn't feel so routine anymore.
