Floffy loves science, but he isn't certified in any field. He does dabble in computer programming and mechanics, and even built himself a tail-band to use to hover around since he has no legs, but he's far from an expert. All he really does is tend to the family's' plant nursery, which is mostly crops of fruits and vegetables. He spends much of his free time educating himself on various scientific fields. His primary interests are cosmology and biology, and he has a mild interest in geology, physics and psychology. Though he doesn't go to school (no subeta pet seems too!), he finds other ways to learn.

He spends a fair amount of time at Book Nook and at Alexander's library, sometimes spending the day sitting on the carpet floor in a silent, lonely corner diligently reading books that fit his interests. Half because he finds other people annoying to put up with, and half because he sneaks in snacks even though they aren't allowed. Sour gummy worms go great with a book about Omen Island's marine ecosystems!

Besides the book stores and libraries, he spends a lot of time indoors at our wooden home in the Lake District, mainly his room. He doesn't like being interrupted when studying, even though his idea of studying usually involves tuning onto science and nature channels on television and watching educational videos on his laptop (not to mention stuffing his face with pizza and burritos).

On clear nights, he floats to the top a tree in our front yard where his friend Xew helped him convert it into a small, open observatory. He goes there to stargaze, use his telescope, study (or snack!) in private, or even use a radio to communicate with citizens on Ziara City monthly when Atebus orbits directly overhead. He keeps plenty of space related books, posters and alien merchandise. He loves science fiction and reads plenty of it, though he hides it away in his observatory since he doesn't want his family to think he's invested in stories! No one else can reach the top of the tree anyway.

It may not be the most apparent thing about him, but Floffy loves money. Most of the family income comes from quests, using his 'UFO' he bought form Atebus to get from shop to shop. He also runs his own little garage sale. He brings his Atebus locker out of his room and takes it to Veta for the morning each weekend, selling random items he got from quests and loot his partner Hydrero sends home.

Because of his extensive knowledge on biology, Floffy helps Xew with gardening. Though he doesn't know specific flower or crop species as well as Xew, he has general knowledge of plant breeding, what pests to look out for and optimal soil conditions.

He's not always engrossed in learning though. Since he has a fascination with interactive technology, he bought Gius a video game console much to her delight. They both occasionally play mulitiplayer games against each other, usually party games and fighting games.

Hydrero is Floffy's closest companion, but since he's usually away from home at the Omen Islands for work, the most interaction they do is when Hydrero returns home to visit a few times a year, when they catch up on whatever is happening in their lives, exchange gifts and spend quality intimate time together.
