The wind howled as Coffen moved in the trees at night. His fire red tail slowly flickered behind him as he watched the people below. Even though he was wearing blue jeans, a red t-shirt, and had bright red hair, he always managed to stay in the shadows where ever he went. Maybe it was because he could turn into smoke, when needed to, and was able to hide from the other humans.
His ears twitched as he listened to the people below him talk. They were talking about a murder, and he had a feeling they would blame him, since he was the odd one in the town. All that he had left was Flamer, his little Furball companion. Together, they were taking on the world, not really caring about anyone. Though.. that's what Coffen thought.
Fate would see it otherwise. For now, they rested in a tree, scanning the world below with their golden eyes. Tomorrow there would be a storm, and if the flames went out on his tail or ears, he'd get sick, and right now he couldn't afford to get sick. Tomorrow, he would be awakened to the storm he was.
