Macy was, as her appearance clarifies, built. Constructed, crafted, ... by human hands. She is nothing of herself, but in an odd way, she came to be a 'herself'. Exactly how, is unclear, perhaps we can point fingers at magic. Or not?
She came to be in the middle-ages (a name given to the specific period of time by humans, and this note was made because really, foxes can read too it seems) in Macie, a place in France. Hunting foxes was a task of prestige and was taught to even children, of royalty or rich families of course. But of course, this natural supply of foxes wasn't never-ending, and so Macy came to be.
The man was not rich, but was the only forger/mechanic in his city, and did the best he could seeing as fulfilling this task properly would earn him a nice sum of money.
He baptised his 'project' Macy and crafted her from scraps laying around here and there, as he did not have the finances for nifty materials. And it would be shot at and hunted on anyway. The mechanics inside of her were simple but well-functioning and delicately constructed, she would be able to endure quite a few hunts. Of course, she was unable to jump or dodge, so hunting her would only be possible in large, open fields, without any use of dogs.
Maybe faith felt bad for this mechanical fox-like, and somehow she made it into the forest on the first hunt. Of course, never returning. And that is how her story, or put differently, life, came to be..
