GUNSHOT
Their surnames didn't matter anymore; all that mattered was that they survived. That instinct was their birthright. Leroy, Warner and later Francesca, and later still Helen, the four of them marching onwards.
An overview of Leroy would not take long. He was a trainee hairdresser before 'the infection'. During a fight with a disturbed colleague, screaming that he was infected, he killed her, sustaining a neck injury: the result of a particularly savage slash from his foe. He wears black boots, black jeans and a black turtleneck to hide the scar wrapped around his slender neck.
It was a couple of months into 'the infection', as it was then known, that he met Warner in a deserted shopping mall. They make a good team now, despite their differences. Warner has taken him under his wing. Leroy is most certainly a survivor, but at heart he remains somewhat soft and sensitive. He would readily admit that it is mostly luck that has kept him alive thus far. He is positive, and maintains a certain lightness about him. With a pretty, androgynous face and all the gentleness of a flower, it seems that despite his fragile nature, he has the ability to make people want to take care of him somehow.
Day 4: Long grass swayed and brushed their knees. The days were longer in the late summer, and as the sun began to sink lazily toward the horizon, the two young men quickened their pace.
They were tired: the stolen jeep had sputtered and coughed it's way to a halt after three days of solid driving. They had made good progress all the same. Staying off-road was less safe, and there was a high chance they'd meet more survivors out here. These days, Leroy didn't know whether survivors were worse than the infected, but the risk was necessary. Staying off-road was the only real way of getting any closer to the coast.
They didn't have long until nightfall, and Warne pointed out a lone house in the distance. Determined but cautious, they hurried down the track toward the decrepit building.
God only knew what lurked within - infected or not - but Leroy had no intention of dying just yet.
