On this particular October Friday the 13th, a two-headed chariot horse ghost rises from the ground at the fort. The guild is frightened, although the horse appears docile. Hanji mentions that October Friday the 13ths are notoriously spooky and paranormal activity is reported at its highest on these particular dates. Stryker examines the horse and guesses it most likely was a former battle steed that resided at the fort.
"Perhaps it is a restless spirit with unfinished business," he remarks as he pets the steed. The left head nickers contently while the other continues to graze grass.
"But, why is it two-headed??" Teba asks, from a distance.
"It probably had been two individual horses, but maybe over time it fused into one body. All that remains of the two individuals are the heads themselves, and each has its own personality and memories. The left head is quite friendly, while the other one is more reserved," Stryker concluded. "I do wonder if it returns to our world for each Friday the 13th that occurs."
"most likely only in October, we've had plenty of Friday the 13ths come and go and we have never seen this horse," Hanji recalled.
"It's a pity it will likely disappear again the next day, but now we know it's here in the future," Stryker laments. He had taken a particular liking to the steed.
The next morning, Teba screams. Stryker pokes his head out of his den; the horse had remained and the left head was happily drinking some fresh water out of the pond, while the right head glared ominously at Teba with its glowing purple eyes.
"WHY THE FUCK IS IT STILL HERE STRYKER?! YOU SAID IT'D BE GONE!" Teba yelled out the window as he hid inside the fort cowardly.
The Irion shrugs. "I guess it has some volition to remain with us. It must see us as competent caretakers. Which we are, considering how many strays we keep bringing in on the regular."
"That's not funny! Tell it to go back into the ground!"
The ghost horse walked over to Stryker and the left head nuzzled him as the right head stared off into the distance stoically. "I like him. He can stay. You, however, are free to go whenever you like, Teba."
"Don't talk back to your lieutenant for one, and two, the horse has no business staying here!"
"The horse was here before any of us. This is its home."
Elfric appears, and sighs. "...I guess it can stay. If it was a battle horse, then it probably could be an ally on the battlefield. A reliable one, especially since it seems to like Stryker best. Stryker, will you care for him then?"
"Yes, commander. I've always wanted a seleton ghost horse as a pet, ever since I was a little fledgling," Stryker said dramatically, clasping his foreclaws together and wistfully closing his eyes. Elfric rolled his eyes and shook his head in disbelief but said nothing more.
"Just keep that monstrosity away from me!!" Teba screamed.
