Biography

Paddy is a 4th year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A pure-blood werewolf, she has a permanent covering of fur, which is said to be a lucky omen. She normally doesn't wear shoes (her claws rub against the leather) unless it's needed for school uniform.

Favorite Class(es): Potions (her Uncle is an alchemist, so she's looking forward to studying potions), Defence Against the Dark Arts, and she's eager to learn how to fly on a broomstick without falling off :P

Patronus: (hasn't learnt how to make one yet, so she hasn't a clue what form it'd take)
Pet(s): A Barn Owl called Mouse, a Samoyed puppy called Snowden, a Rat named Rodney, a Niffler named Norman, and a Krup named Remus - she's left her Puffskein named Puffy at home for the 8th term.
Favorite Candy: Anything as long as it's a "normal" flavour (no sprout flavoured Bertie Botts Beans)
Favorite Color: Purple and brown (impossible to pick just one)
Favorite Book: Anything that isn't full of boring history

Bio: "I was born to a werewolf father and human mother, but had a covering of fur right from the beginning. Uncle Alfred (who happens to also be a werewolf - it seems to run in the family) said he'd heard this was a lucky omen, but it meant I was bullied from a really young age. Uncle had taken me out into the fields on a full moon for years, but nothing happened until I was 5. He wouldn't explain why it took so many moons for me to turn into a werewolf, and I know Mother thought that he had bitten me, as she didn't speak to him for a few years after that.



I did have a lot of kids take the mickey in my last school - I don't think my fur helped with that, but I'm hoping that Hogwarts might have some more accepting students that I can make friends with.


I spend the summers with my Uncle, watching him create potions and baying at the moon together of an evening. He bought me my pet owl, as I couldn't possible have a cat, and I've been known to chase rats on a full moon - an owl was definitely the safest pet to pick! I bought my puppy on my first trip to Hogsmeade, after I tripped over her tail in the pet shop. Rodney was a birthday present from Magnus, which was unexpected, but I've taken a shine to my little rat - he's got a charm placed on him so he can't be attacked by Mouse. Puffy was part of the Care of Magical Creatures session where we had to look after a Puffskein for a week - at the end of that time we were allowed to keep it if we wanted. He does have a strange red shade to his fur, and glowing orange eyes due to a mis-cast charm (I was trying to make him safe from my other pets, but I guess I pronounced the words wrong).


1) How did they get changed into a werewolf?
I was born to a werewolf father and human mother, but had a covering of fur right from the beginning. 2) Do they like being one, or does it make them nervous?
I feel like I'm a wolf in human-form most of the time anyway (with this constant covering of fur), so it wasn't all that different to be honest. I will admit the first few full moons were pretty scary, but I spent the following three summers with Uncle Alfred which made me realise that it wasn't all that bad. We spent the nights baying at the moon, and being an Alchemist, he taught me a few things about potions during the day.


3) Do they control themselves, or let their animal side run free?
I'd like to say I control myself all the time, but I do have one weakness - I love to chase rodents, rats in particular. I don't kill them.... well, not unless they're evil rats, and I've only ever found one of those before. I don't think any rats at Hogwarts would be evil, and I will try my hardest to not chase anyone's pets!


4) How does their mood change as it gets closer to a full moon?
If I'm really absorbed in a task, then the full moon can creep up on me unawares. I don't tend to get much of a mood change if I'm engrossed in something, but if I've not got much to keep my brain occupied, then I tend to feel more energetic; I definitely do more running in the few days before a full moon. I have been told that I get more snappy when the moon is almost full, but I'm not overly aware of that.


5) Please include an HA (or a google image) of your characters werewolf form.
My true werewolf form is:

although given my fur-covering, you can't tell the difference between my appearance at the full moon, and my regular look. If you look really closely, sometimes my eyes gain a reddish tint at the full moon, but if you just passed by quickly, you probably wouldn't be any the wiser.

I must apologise for the state of my clothing - that was a particularly rough full moon and I'd spent most of the night chasing rats through the forest behind Uncle's house. The chase was ok, but they ran through a patch of thorns and nettles, which tore my clothing to pieces.
