Warador

(war-AH-door)

When Subeta was still in the hands of a royal family, there was a court sorcerer named Warador, known for his craft, as well as his tricks. His task was to entertain guests of the court, but he took it upon himself to do much more than simply impress visitors. With magical pranks galore, he created pure chaos for many of the most important callers of His and Her Majesty, threatening their reputation and even their reign. After months of warning the sorcerer to clean up his act or face the consequences, the royal family made good on their threat. A new wizard was brought in, not only as a replacement, but to curse Warador for the trouble he had caused.

The curse took Warador from being a powerful mage to being the laughingstock of the kingdom - for he now took the form of a small, toy court jester. Disgraced, Warador left the kingdom to find a place on Subeta where he could rule on his own. He soon made his way to Shadowglen, drawn by the haunting dark magic of the place. Here, he hoped to find a reversal for his curse so he could claim his revenge on the magician that had transformed him, once and for all.

Unfortunately for Warador, his own magic had been severely limited by the curse. Left only with his staff, he was able to create weak spells that seemed to serve little to no purpose. One thing he soon discovered, however, was he could create more of himself - several small, plush, jester-like creatures, all with a perchance for mischief. Soon, Shadowglen was crawling with the little beasts. Warador found himself surrounded by his fellows, a small, soft army of feisty creatures with magical eyes and staffs with very little power behind them. After a long while, they made their way around to different parts of the world, mingling with Subetans all over. They became known for their delightful antics and trouble-causing ways, Some people even adopted them, treating them similar to a ruffie or feli - and this suited the little creatures just fine.

After hundreds of years, it has become hard to tell fact from fiction. Whether or not the warador of modern day truly takes it name from the tales of the sorcerer sharing their name is difficult to say. It is a tale that warador fans alike love to tell, however, and that waradors themselves are proud to revel in.
