Reading Drive!
School is back in session and the time for books is NOW. After a long wait, Archie has agreed to put on the reading drive once more.
He's running things a bit differently this year, however! Archie claims that he has not held a reading drive in so long due to the overabundance of common books he received last time. As such, this year he's looking to only accept books you cannot restock.
But worry not, dear users, for Alexander is joining in on the drive this year, and is willing to give out points to those who complete his quests!
Archie will open up his shop in one week, so you better earn all the points you can before then!

Why would I want to give away a non-restockable book? That's such a waste. Kinda disappointed.
I don't understand how to do this quiz either. i have the answers but is there a secret way to answer them?

If I remember correctly, the reason we haven't had a book drive in so long is due to the fact that people would just hoard books and get the book drive done within a day or two, then never touch it again. When an event like this is provided, you want to have a sort of challenge, not just "go buy a bunch of super cheap books then you win!".
Finally managed to get the quest going, and I need to do a Drills quest, which I've already maxed out for today. Go figure.
I'm way too poor to be able to participate in this, I just went and spent the last of my SP on some of the pretty non-restockable books I needed for my gallery before they become impossible to get hold of. At least I'll be able to sell my little vault book hoard for a nice profit though? ^-^;

Why no RSables? I don't see what is wrong with being prepared and putting in the effort to have an advantage.
Hmm I don't know if I'll be able to do a lot of quests because I'm broke at the moment but good I saved a 1 week gold account they gave as free gift
@sui - I tried all those things too! I don't get it. I even copied and pasted the text into word to see if there really was hidden text between the lines. Nope.
To buy all the readable cash shop books and a GA (to get extra quest points) will be $35, almost as good as a CW sale.

Extremis, events are designed so that everyone can participate to the best of their ability. Not everyone will be able to max out points. That's the nature of any game, really.
But I think it is good for me tho that I suck at restocking and a lot of books I have are from events and shit

Welp. another reading drive I won't be participating in. I read all of the non-restockable books I had to Varius.

LokiLaufeyson, there are only so many cheap ones - and then you start getting over 100k, 500k, 1m, etc. And not everyone has millions to spend on a bunch of books for an event, unfortunately. :c
Yay reading drive!!! Do we get extra points for Alex quests or does each completed quest give 1 point like turning in a book would?
Having 1-99s count for TWO parts of this would inflate them even more than just one already would!
I got the 'quiz' after buying two things at the clothing rack.....how do we answer this quiz? or....do we have to wait or something?
Keith-I was asking why the rs-able books weren't made a really low point value (like a quarter of a point for each) that we could turn in and get but if you wanted more points then you still had the quest option. Doing his quests doesn't guarantee that I'll see the books I have in my vault asked for

Alexander keeps asking me to get him super rares that cost over 1m. I have a feeling library quests will not be helping me all that much. o no

Also, if there is something special on Alexander's quest page (like a different link) then I'm not seeing it. Please tell me I'm not entering Epicon's quest nightmare AGAIN.
Actually even the books that don't count toward the RD are good because people will need to buy them for the library quests.
Except that quests require multiple, typically expensive, books, instead of just 1 book for 1 point.

come on you guys!! I keep saying that there are a TON of inexpensive books out there that are not restockable. Go on SL and find them! And then stock up on those! This isn't a bad move on Subeta's decision making, it's probably just like a prototype... who knows, it may be a permanent change, again who knows. BUT I know this, thanks to the help of my friend whom explained this to me, there ARE A BUNCH of books that exist that are 1. non restockable and 2. INEXPENSIVE! Go be proactive, prove that due diligence pays off!
Sorry for a second post I sat down and thought a little more about this, if the problem was hoarded books, the people who hoarded still come out ahead of the game if they've also been adding non-rs to their collection as they came out. So now with a future RD if it were to be the same way everyone is basically going to hoard and get all the non-rs books that they can as they appear.
Yes they'll still need to do the quest to earn more points (if they want them) but it doesn't really solve the issue

With the old RD, rare books still had an incredible advantage. This is not much different. You still get to use 1-99 for the quests, and get more points elsewhere...
waited along time for this and wow greed killed it for me .. I on a fixed income cant have the pleasure to spend real money for imaginary pixels .. yeah do quest for points NOT dont do quests here only wizard .. the rest stink cost tons of money get no good rewards .. Yeah me want to do it .. well time to move on again .. see ya see ya have fun
