Reading Drive!

Bound Glade Journal
Time Travel and You
Ballroom Fashions Paper Doll Book

School is back in session and the time for books is NOW. After a long wait, Archie has agreed to put on the reading drive once more.

He's running things a bit differently this year, however! Archie claims that he has not held a reading drive in so long due to the overabundance of common books he received last time. As such, this year he's looking to only accept books you cannot restock.

But worry not, dear users, for Alexander is joining in on the drive this year, and is willing to give out points to those who complete his quests!

Archie will open up his shop in one week, so you better earn all the points you can before then!

Another time-sapping stupid rule. Moving on.
Well, I horded for a year for lint XD
How many Non RS books are there in the database?
You have turned in 5 books to the Reading Drive.
Alexander has also given you 0 points for your help! --- Dafuq?
Books Turned In
You have turned in 1 books to the Reading Drive.
Alexander has also given you 0 points for your help!

Why no points for my book?!?!?!
Not digging the fact that only nonrestockable books work. The system gets flooded with common books making them ridiculously worthless...wouldn't this have been a good opportunity to even everything out a little?
With the constant CloudFlare errors, trying to do any Alexander Quests becomes a very tedious battle and I wonder if it's worth it. x_x
Thank you,I like the chance.
I've turn in over 400 books and the rest of my hoardings in my shop, they go away in seconds . :D
The only thing, donating books for the drive is a bit stressfull,my finger hurts ;)
150+ books hoarded. Three non-RSable. Looking at the average prices today, I'd be better off selling them xP
Well, it looks like it's all been said, but when I was new I missed out because I didn't know I needed to hoard books. So I hoarded books and now that's no good either. I'm sure I have plenty that will work, but it's not as exciting as I hoped it would be since I was looking forward to being able to really score like those before me did.
Eh, I'll pass. I've never been fond of events where I have to buy things and submit them for points. My slow internet makes it impossible to race for items anyway.
Thanks for the clarification, Ariel. Between you and User not found: ignisfae I now understand how it all works! ^_^
Aww, boo. :(

Well guess I'll just be watching from the sidelines this year. Too lazy and waaay too broke to try this method. Have fun those who are trying.
Oh, yay, I'm really excited to try this!
It isn't invisibly tallied, it counts on the RD page!
I don't have a problem with a new method to this, it seems interesting?
But it took like half an hour to load this page so I can complain lawl (it's my internet, not Subeta), and so I have -3 minutes to do my Alexander quests and nope, just literally tearing up in frustration (well, like 10 minutes ago), this is horrible timing, right when my internet is just..
Argh, anyway, just complaining because wow, I've been waiting for the Reading Drive for so long and then.... although now my internet is hopefully working now, but goodbye potential 28 quests ;w;
ANYWAY now to do as much as possible before my internet dies again :p

This only lasts a week right? ;-;

I hope it the drive page will change soon so we can add the books to our check lists. Checking one by one is giving me a headache ;P
So you get points for turning in non-RS'able books that are invisibly tallied by Alexander when you do his quests... yet he's asking for RS'able books...

....? WHAT o.o
I'm just really confused. ~
"Battle is not going to be involved in the reading drive."

Hallelujah. It's like the only event that doesn't involve battling lol
I can't wait to see the new prizes o3o
masquerade open invitations work too :)
masquerade open invitations work too :)
How are you suppose to do the pop quiz on the scavenger hunt? And only super rare books and only once?
Note old event books work.
NancyBlack, Thank you for the tip. Its much appreciated.
I don't normally post any comment but I just saw someone mentioned how UNFAIR it is for zombies to turn in books from Zombie Den. Well, at least you have chance to purchase those books from the zombies! Most zombies were struggling on EPICON cosplay event and I didn't see them complaining how unfair the EPICON was! So you had your advantage then why can't we have ours?
books dont stay in shop for long, quest items are 50,000 ++++ in user shops
i got as much as i could afford in the non restocked books

I got what i could, I guess that will be enough, thank you subeta team for this event
No matter what the plot, event, or game--some people will have an advantage. Whether it be a large real/Subeta bank account, 18 hours to commit to playing daily, a knack for flash games, quick restocking fingers, some old [insert thing] gallery that is now relevant, a huge battle pet they've worked on for years, etc. Personally, I think zombies that have suffered for years deserve the few perks they continue to get.
So zombies can go to the den and buy books to turn in all week long and those of us that aren't zombies, well, we get to be on the receiving end of that unfair advantage. Not like I have the option to go turn zombie or had it recently for that matter.
Quest books will also inflate, a lot, since he can ask for the same book multiple times from everyone. So... don't just say, "do the quests." They won't be worth it.
Achievement Earned!
You Drive Me Crazy
Turn in 25 books to the Reading Drive

YAY! It may not be a lot but I am proud for even getting 25. Hopefully I'll be able to track some more down to turn in by the end of the week. ^__^
Well, this is a really bad idea. Congrats on making an already expensive event into an insanely expensive event. It will be less expensive to just save my rare unrestockable books and buy the items I want from user shops. In fact, it'll be time saving as well since I won't have to sit here all day just to try and get a 'special' book to gain a point or 2. In the future, please think these events thru from ALL sides.
Wik
o.o like books weren't already ridiculously overinflated as is.

Guess I'm going to be selling all of my books for cash instead
whine whine, complain complain

Seriously I'm sick of all the complaining. Nothing is ever good enough for you guys, is it? Why don't you just go join NeoPets, then, if it's sooo bad to you? If you whine and complain with every single gosh darn event?

I'm personally happy that many of those hoarding common books can't cheat this time. Yes, it's cheating to me.

Don't like it? Do Alexander Quests.
Oh ok, make the common ones even more worthless. And the not rs ones impossible. Makes sense, cause I always did want to turn in only my one of a kind expensive book in and keep the cheap ones anyway. -_-
Just so everyone knows, Blue Building books work!
Books will inflate so much either way. This won't help. Don't like it. At least the other way, you weren't limited by how many points you could get. Quests limit that so much because books in the start inflate to a ton, and then more people rs and stock their shops books come down some. If you don't do the quests every day, you don't get points. Other way, you could restock and hoard all the books and turn them in as you wished. :/
All I know is that I sincerely hope any book given to Archie is worth a lot more points than doing quests. I just spent 560 Vesnali Tokens and I-didn't-count-how-many Steamworks Trinkets buying books because I knew I wouldn't get them any other way, and I can't very well go out and BUY a lot of these books since so many of them are crazy expensive to begin with. It'd be nice if at some point we could just give him any book we wanted, because at this point the only way to make any points for this thing is to spend 100k+ per quest, or waste millions of sP giving him books that we'll never be able to get again.
I've been saving up books since last reading drive and I finally was gonna be able to get the guide to budo ach prize BUT NOT ANYMORE ;A;
The library quest is erroring. I buy a book from the shop then turn it in.. and it takes me to a page with my userlookup and a bunch of codingmumbojumbo
I really like the prize shop and want a bunch of stuff from it...But I have a feeling it'd be much cheaper to buy what I want from user shops than to actually earn the points myself, so I'm sitting this one out~ (Plus I'm still exhausted from epicon so yeaaah...)
I really dislike that it's asking for books that cant be restocked. Those books really do not need to be rarer/inflated. Some people claimed that there are cheaper non-restockable books, but I bet if you checked again you'd find that there's very few that haven't inflated horribly by now.
@whisperly at the bottom of the reading drive page there is a "You have also completed 0 library quests." c:
Sighs

I bought what i could in non restockable(since I had only started playing this year all non restockable items in the past had to be bought), everything else in the millions are unobtainable :/
I'll just have to wait and see what happens, I know a lot of people are very annoyed as well as I am, but I am glade Reading Drive came back, i just wish rare/super rare items could be included as well and leave out the common books
So excited for the reading drive! Even though the point system is different this year I'm super stoked about it & can't wait to get some of the older RD weapons! Also excited to see the increased range of rarities at Blue Sky. I vended an r99 today!
Do I turn in the books or sell them to make the sp back that I overspent on the quests? I hope the prizes are worth it.
It's sad that 'common' and 'mundane' books are going for 1/2 a million sp.

In the last Keith Answers video I watched, he said he didn't know about the reading drive, that they had to come up with another way to do it....this is different. I commend all the work you put into these things. I condemn all the price gouging; but I guess I will join in with my extras.
Is there any way to see how many points you have gained for the reading drive?

I could do 2/20 quests (nothing below 100k+ sP, new players won't have any fun with this event) and it nowhere told me if and how many points I've gained.
I use all of my non rs books for my reading pet and not up to buying more. I'll try some library quests but they are mostly too expensive for my blood. Oh well. Thanks for the event anyways.

Masquerade - I don't think we've ever said that it was never coming back, just that it wouldn't be coming back until we figured out how to do it in another way that we were happier with.
I didnt get any points

Thank you for bringing me these items! Here is your prize:

Scrunched Olive Jacket

AND

Kiwi Summer Drink
I really like that there's several ways to participate. So I appreciate you guys trying this out! I know it's my first reading drive and all but hoarding books and dumping them on the first day just doesn't sound the most appealing when it is meant to be a site event :( I did enjoy dumping my hoard but it's nice to have something else to do and look forward to daily! I just hope this doesn't cost a ton of sp by the end D:
