@Mike - If users have to purchase more CSC to purchase user CWs.... Subeta makes more money. I cannot lower my prices under 600 CSC ... 'Minimum 600' in shops. Pretty logical. Think before you call someone out.

And there went all the 50mil items I've been able to buy because people didn't want to deal with trades. How dare you.... *glarey eyes*. Going to have to go through my shops and utilize 2 shops again though. Many items I'm waiting to go back up in price for that I do not want to accidentally sell for 1-5Mill. Ain't no one got time to be this "unlazy"!

this has taken away the use of the super autopricer now? or has the price is prices been updated for it? because I can now use the normal autopricer for my items worth over 1mill which I could not do in the past.

nice! I noticed a bit of inflation since i originally joined the site and this is a good changed to adjust to it :)

Can someone explain to me, Im confused, Ive got 2 shops, can I autoprice both shops? my 2nd shop is for items over 1mil I thought this change meant I would be able to see the other user shops prices but where it says 'Lowest' mine still say 0sP I dont understand.

"You gain the buff Main Shop Discount which gives you 15% off the items in all npc shops!" That's different...

The shops were like this in the past and it ruined the economy.
All this is going to do is encourage people to hoard sP in case someone wants a quick sale on a very expensive item and throws is in their shops for a hundred mil.
The idea is to get the sP hoarders to spend their money, not have a reason to hoard even more of it.

Ouch... While this is all cool and stuff, I think it's going to make it a lot harder for people to clear their wishlists out of things they've been wanting. I just wonder how it'll make quests go now...

I'll be interested to see what happens. In theory if items aren't selling for a particular price, the price will just drop. In practice this doesn't necessarily happen. People see an item where there are (say) in shops all priced at 75 million and figure it's "worth" 75 million, and may be very reluctant to lower the price (especially to lower the price substantially) even when the item persists in not selling.
I mean, I've seen items in my wishlist that I check periodically where there's one item in shops priced at 50 million, and that same item has been there for a YEAR at 50 million, but the owner has never lowered the price. Now, I haven't tried to haggle for them and maybe I could get it for much less if I did, but haggling is so much more effort that I expect a lot fewer do it... that's why people prefer to buy in shops than trades in the first place.
I remember on Neo once I was trying to sell an item in trades. All other trades were listed at 1.5 million. I gradually worked my way down to, dunno, 600K and someone messaged me asked why I had the item priced at 600k when it was "worth" 1.5 million. Well, because I'd had it in trades for 1.5 million for a month without a single nibble, that's why. They may be listing at 1.5 million but no one is buying them at 1.5 million.
Even in the "real world" when talking about prices for ebooks, music, whatever, you see people not understanding that an item is worth what people are willing to pay for it, not what people want to sell it for.
I predict that this will in fact cause inflation on high-end items, even though economic theory says it shouldn't, because people aren't actually perfectly rational and logical economic agents. :-)

Well not too long ago (like 2-3months or so) csc was only 3.5mil/100csc so even 2k csc wasn't even close to this 100mil nonsense.
But oh yes, weapons do go for a lot but when I ask what items were worth more than 100mil, I didn't mean weapons or CWs.
And I'm sure CWs are only sold for csc because you need USD and csc to get one made and put onsite. Just trying to get their dollar currency worth.
Let's just wait and see how prices fluctuate from here on. I've seen many people spend thousands of dollars on cellphone games, I'm sure they'd be more than willing to spend it here. I'm just not one of those people.
@Trendy
Lol Gaia is ridiculous right now. If that happens here, I'm out :l

Considering there are still games that make only 1000 sp, I think it is OUTRAGEOUS to have raised the ceiling on shop prices. I think this is really encouraging to gouge out ridiculous prices. :(

While I do like this change, I hope it doesn't pave the way for massive inflation. *cough cough gaia cough cough*

@MadaraKeehl An item will only sell if someone is willing to pay that. In general, items that get overpriced in shops tend to drop rather quickly, if not instantly. And if instead no one competes selling the item and someone does buy it for 100m, then that is exactly what it is worth at that point in time. I can offer to buy an item all year for 25m and someone can offer all year to sell for 100m, but neither of those is it's "price" or value because it's clearly not being bought and sold at those prices. In fact items which there where only a few on the market almost always have some shops selling them for 50m, which is fine and they won't ever likely sell at that price anyhow... It's not their value...
As far as items being worth 100m, I instantly went and pulled some items out of my trades and armory because I'd been looking to sell them in the 50-100m range. If they don't sell then I'll slowly lower their price, but I've sold other copies of some of them at that price and higher. You don't see many items worth 50-100m because up until now it was extremely inconvenient to try and sell them as most of them in that category are HTS and subeta users are finicky about trades for whatever reason. And that's just 50-100m. If you ask in the battle chat if anyone has an item worth over 100m, you'll get plenty of ye's.
And then there's CW's, although most of them are always traded in csc for some reason, technically right now anythign that sells over 1k csc is selling at over 50m and less than 2k = less than 100m. Not many get sold for sP but I've seen plenty sell for ~1.2k.

I think they meant it more like the people who have "the only item in the shop" ex, Evil Pie Minion, can have the starting price be 100mil instead of 50. I've seen this done too many times. "Oh well since I have the only one might as well f*** what it's actually worth and make it the highest possible price I can".
The only benefit now is that I can undercut the crap out of that by putting a real price up and it will look much more appealing when competing with 100mil.
@Sleeb
Yes this is exactly the problem...
Also, I would like an example of an item worth 100mil. Really worth that much and not just priced at that because I only know one item. Pfft even without the increased shop, the only one available atm is in trades for 200mil. Greedy people but with sP prices on the rise, 200mil won't get you much anyway...

This was done for two reasons!
1. Items do sell for more than 50 million, it's just way harder to make it happen.
2. We get data for our item purchases from the user shops primarily, so this helps us collect more information on the price of items and better let you know the price of items over time :)!

I agree that if people wanted stuff to sell for more than 50mil - they'd have put it in trades for higher anyway. This just makes things faster, and if anything will make expensive items cheaper since there will be shops pricing competitively.

Perfectly timed to accomodate the batshitcrazy csc inflation! 1k csc about to breach ss roof limit *BOOM* double the roof limit altogether!!! Well played Subeta, Well played.

@Sleeb, items have always sold for over 50m, but generally only in the trades. The items that sold in trades for 50-100m will just be sold in shops now, generally. In no way shape or form does this update mean that items that used to cost 50m will now cost 100m from other users. That would require all the users selling that item to collaborate and reprice at double the price. Doing so would be price manipulation which IIRC is a freezable offense for everyone involved...

This makes me weep, because 50mil used to be where the most expensive and unreachable items used to stop.
Now stuff will be twice as much and even more impossible for me.

Noooooooooo! It makes sense that you guys did this, but still clearing out my wishlist will become even more of an unreachable goal now.

Nice change, especially the autopricer, but I doubt I'll ever have to sell such expensive items.
And hand-pricing becomes really tedious when you have 1,000+ items in your shop.

Will have to check this out later. But of course it only works with items selling for SPs not CSC, which it seems like a lot of trades are now because they are CWs. If the CWs I wanted sold for SPs instead of CSC I'd be so broke.

Maybe I'm just lazy, but I like this. Trades can be a hassle.
As for no haggling in shops... yeah, it will make quests quicker, so I'm okay with it. (I'm also bad at math, so I never saved that much haggling anyway :P)
And with the autopricer update... time to renew my gold account~

Not like people were really buying from the trades like they used to, so it's fine. Things evolve, its been over 10yrs. Calm your shit.

Love this. I have one item sitting in trades that I can now put in my shop and hopefully someone will at least see it and message me for a haggle or trade where as it is getting no response in trades, heck someone might even just buy it :P
I will probably still hand price my over 1mills but now I will have that helpful little 'lowest: xx sPs' so I won't have to hand search every item to discover it is 1 sP cheaper than mine lol
Like many I'm sure, I'm more excited by the autopricer increase ^_^
Thank you

I won't understand why people are complaining on this one. If a user wants more than 50mil they would toss the item in trades and you'd be paying more. Now you can go right to a user shop for it. Greedy people are greedy, that can't be helped. They will be greedy regardless of how subeta does things and find ways... for the rest of us... this just makes things easier.

This is great! Now you don't have to guess what people want for their no description trades.

Mike
@CelticRaiN, how does this make subeta more money and how does it prevent you from lowering your prices? that doesn't make any sense o.O
0
JuliaJ
little confused ??? suddenly there is no haggling in the shops is this related to this? or did I miss a message somewhere else?
0
CelticRaiN
Ehh. That's just another way to make Subeta more money. I'd like to be able to lower my prices... how about that? I really feel as though I'd sell more! >:-(

Mike
This is sort of a cache 22. On one hand it might be a lot easier to sell some medium priced items. On the other hand it will more likely just lead to the faster deflation of medium priced items since they'll be competing in shops where prices are updated far more frequently rather than sitting in trades, waiting to be bought at the set price (or for the subeta standard 30% off >.<)
For those who said that this means items will suddenly become more expensive.... that literally makes no sense at all. Being able to sell higher priced items in shops does not equal prices getting higher lol. An item that sold for 100m on trades will just be able to sell in shops now instead. You could argue that super hard to sell items that were being put in for the default 50m because no one wanted to wait for a trade offer might go in shops for a bit more at first, but anyone who defaults to selling in a shop like that is looking to sell and will likely lower the price soon anyways, so again higher max price =/= higher overall prices.

not sure i like this. it's hard enough to buy expensive items at 50mil, if they jump up to 100mil i'll never buy them. and it's so rare i actually get an item that i can sell for that much, and even more rare that it sells... nah, not so sure. sorry!
0
Hael
@foxette - How does it do this, exactly? .___. Increasing the pricing limit on shops just makes things easier, IMO. If you happen to want to buy anything for that much, means you don't have to deal with trades, which can be annoying. Some people might try to overprice now with the increased pricing limit, but if anyone prices too highly no one will buy it and naturally prices will just decrease?
0
Glitter
Shit dude, how lazy can you get that you can't even hand price items over 5mil? :( Autopricing pricier items inevitably leads to weird undercutting.
0
crashingnightingales
This is awesome! Especially that the regular autopricer can now price up to 5 mil! This will make buying ultra rare items (like some of the semi-rare weapons) a lot easier! I had to test this out just to confirm that it would autoprice up to 5mil (the text still says it will autoprice up to 1mil, but prices were still submitted).
0
Cobaltbluetoo
Is there any chance of the autopricer pricing items over 1 mill? Obviously it would never go as high as 100 mill, but even up to 10 mill would be amazing. Hand pricing is a pain and some of the quests do give out awesome prizes.
0
Julie
That's great, not that I would sell anything but that's great for auto pricing. Thanks Keith.
