Yeah, I personally appreciate the heads up. Now that I know that Survival is in the next few days I'm less likely to miss it starting. I also appreciate the open communication in general.

I don't really mind the announcements like this because otherwise people just keep asking what day will it start on every news post. The events have never had an exact start date (with the exception of like Luminaire and New Year), this is just kind of letting people know that it will still happening and hasn't been forgotten or anything.
