wow, i feel like a dork. the whole time i was picturing the 'old anyu' for comparrison, i was thinking of the reborn one. the common old one does look really freakin chibi. so it was 5 i guess and this one is 10? the reborn is definately the build i would go for. very ursa, i like it's build a lot. maybe not the face, i really like this face, but the body itself, with the strong neck ruff and head of this design i think.<br />

I thought that we where voting on the Anyu revamp and not the polar bear revamp. I think that the markings on the eyes, the bracelets and the ears are lovely, but..... anyus always had large feet and I thought the bands on the legs and wings where attached to it's legs and not a bit of jewelery.... Also, it seems rather..... obese for a polar bear. Polar bears are large animals, but they're supposed to be sleek and magestic. That bear looks like it could hardly swim with a girth like that and such dainty paws.<br />

Furthermore, polar bears are supposed to be able to break ice with their claws and run over rough and rugged terrain. The paws may appear to be stronger, but they still have to be sturdy for the animal.<br />

Ooo i love love the round belly... looks so cuddly now! Really do not understand why people like everything to be skinny.. its so overrated lol. I like comfy n cuddly fat animals! =)
Very cute. The only problem? It has a rather feminine face, with the eye markings and all..<br />
Everything else is very nice, though. A bit plump, but bears are large, muscular animals, so it's fitting. <br />

I think the new version pretty good, but I liked the brown mouth it had before
I like the new design, but the only thing that irks me is the wings on the bracelets. The old wings on the old versions legs were much more detailed and softer.<br />
All and all its a lot better though.

MissXami - the only other bear is the Chai? And that has a coloured muzzle, so surely taking the muzzle colour away from the Anyu further distances it from the Chai?<br />

I really like the new design, at least how the body was designed. I am not so fond of the ears and the muzzle. The ears are to cringed in my opinion.<br />
And i prefer bears with a longer muzzle. the chai has a short i am cute look on it. I think the anyu is something more of a fierce bear.<br />
But if keith doesnt like bears with long muzzles, i guess there is nothing i could do against it ^^;<br />

yes, fuzziness under teh cuff. that would fix the tight look. just a little wisp before the toes, and maybe ruffle the cheek fur a bit, if you want to make the head fluffier. i kinda like it as is though.<br />

The fact that it's based of a polar bear doesn't really matter to me.. Knowing that, I understand why the feet are smaller but it doesn't change the fact I think they should be a tad bigger purely for ascetics. :'D I adore the eye swirls after only a moment of consideration but I believe someone has already pointed out that the eyeliner-ish markings are a tad too heavy (I want to keep them, though!).. The cuffs, to me, would look brilliant if the feet didn't look dwarfed because of them. Maybe make them a solid color, too? Or at least with the same pattern.
I voted for the older version of the anyu as the look in its eye suggested that it was ready to play and have some fun.
am i the only one that thinks it looks chibier now? it's so round and compact, with baby fat and a much younger looking face. i liked the sleekness of the old anyu personally, had kinda of a german shepard bone structure, which just appeals to me. this one looks very fitted to doing sommersaults, which is fine if youger and kiddish is what you're going for
I really really miss the brown on it's nose :/ That screamed Anyu to me. With out it I was so confused at first because we have quite a few bears on subeta. The muzzle makes it stand out to me.

I think it looks great, except it could use a diet, lol. I liked that the older one was thinner, but I prefer the overall lineart on this one. Great Job.

Note: Having seen some other comments, I understand what people are saying re the feet, but still love the new version. Compared to this, the old one looks more like a chibi version.
As Keith has already pointed out, as well, the Anyu is modelled after a POLAR BEAR. Polar bears heads and feet are substancially smaller than their body... I don't think the anatomy on the new one is WRONG, the anatomy on the old one was and this is the Art Department's way of correcting that. <br />

Overall, the revamp is awesome, but there were only two things that set me back from voting for it; the fact that the body seems a little too bulky, and the fact that for some reason, it seems there's too much patterns going on at once but not at the same time. Polar Bear or not, designwise the old version is more solid. I dislike how the tiny paws of the new version don't seem to properly carry the character's weight, and look very short in proportion to the rest of the body.<br />

I've got to say, I'm really impressed by this redraw. I saw some of the rough sketches of what it was 'to be', when I was on staff and the outcome was sort of looking grim. This is such a vast improvement! <br />

I love the added tummy, it seperates it from just being a Chai with bracelets. The marking change makes me gleeful, as well... the old marking was really lacking in creativity, so it's good to see that this guy got a little artsy-fartsy lovin'. Making the chest-tuft larger, into a full-scale scruff was a bold choice by whomever whipped this cutie up, but I really like it, it adds character. The Greek-like bracers make me all giddy, too. And the style of the wings.<br />

Somethings about the new one are an improvement and some are not. I really like the new one's face, all the detail on the body and especially how it's neck goes into a ruff and then it's shoulders. I think the head and paws do look to small. They don't need to be huge and chibi like the old one but they don't look in propotion to the rest of it's body. Bears are big, heavy animals you generally need big feet to hold all that weight. <br />
My ideal for a redraw would actually be to base it off the old reborn version. I always thought it had nice anatomy and had an adult look as apposed to the chibi look the rest of the Anyu have. <br />

The ONLY thing I person think looks a bit off, the the fake looking wings off the bracelets. Other then that I think the new anyu is amazing. One of the better revamps. Great job!
