Honestly the new Anyu reminds me of the Iorek from Golden Compass. That's not a bad thing though, I really do like the new look. It seems more.. sophisticated? I do think it should be fluffier, and I agree with the paws needing to be a bit bigger. The facial expression with the new brown liner around the eyes is a nice touch to me. All in all, I think it's nice to look at.

The old on was adorable, but I personally think it was a bit too cute... I'm sure it was popular among the girlier users of Subeta, but it was pretty unrealistic, and most guys wouldn't want a girlish pet... I think the new one looks more professionally drawn, with the tiniest details captured just right.<br />

I'm not sure which one I prefer. The new one is a little plump which would be fine but there is no tail. And the paws are a little odd. But still a great job artists. I like the cufs though. But I think they should all have the same pattern. I like the front ones better.

I thought the pets of Subeta weren't supposed to look like real animals, I mean with regards to the feet.<br />
Like when people complained about the anatomy of other pets, you guys said they're not based off of the animal that they resemble.<br />

I'm going to preface this by saying that I know I would simply look at it and like it if it weren't a redraw of an anyu. ^.^; It's a good-looking animal on its own, but when I start to compare it to the older anyu, some of the differences make me uncomfortable. <br />

I do like the eye markings, but think it would look a bit less feminine if the swirl on the cheek didn't swoop up so drastically, or possibly at all (and I also favor the design on the rear bracers/anklets). A simple curve might look better than a full swirl. (So that it might curve down along the side of the cheek - but not actually parallel the line of the cheek - and taper off at the bottom, without ever rising toward the eye.) <br />

It took me awhile to even see what people were talking about with it looking too chubby (because the belly itself looks perfectly plausible for a bear, whether polar, grizzly, black or brown). The basic area does look a little awkward, but I personally attribute it to the line of the back, not the belly. The beginning and end of the line of the back (from behind the ruff to the top of the rump) seem a little too high. It might be that the angle is a little sharp, or it might be that it just looks like the actual line is maybe ten to twenty pixels too high. Or maybe it's just that the shoulder looks a little too low for where the spine would be. ^.^; That part... I haven't been able to pin down. <br />

The new one really is adorable, but I still prefer the old version. Between the body size, feet/legs, and the eyes, I just like the overall appearance of the old version.<br />

Another thing that I noticed is that the had looks odd compared to he fuzzy body. I think the head should have a bit more fluff to match up with the body. It just looks awkward when up against the furry neck.
Now that's a polar bear, I second all the ppl who think that ^^ this is a gorgious redraw, the eyes are so expressive. Remember all, polar bears are huge, if you've never come face to face with one, you're missing out <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" /> The paws could be a little more detailed but I like the cuffs are real instead of just markings now, bravo artists.

Anyu have been my favorite pet since forever and The main thing that attracted me to the Anyu is the Polar Bear factor.. <br />
To me the new one just doesn't look right.. The ankle cuffs look way to Egyptian, It looks like it got in a fight with brown eyeliner and where is it's tail? , the body just doesn't look right it is thin in places and fat in others and those paws are way too small.. and since when do polar bears have big cuffs of fur around their next that look like a fuzzy beard?<br />

xD'; I know what you mean, Twi, I was so proud of some art I drew last night, then a few hours later, when I looked at my scan with my brother, he picked up that I hadn't coloured in a chunk of it. sometimes, you need people to point out the flaws.
karu, they are ASKING for constructive criticism and our opinion of the art... so that's what we're doing. I don't -expect- anything to be changed. I just post in case the artist/staff hadn't looked at it from my perspective. No matter how many hours you spend looking at a drawing, you still often don't see something that is obvious to someone else. I think the overall feel of the comments here are very positive, we're just picky. XD
More simply put, I want this to be the big bulky bear of the three on Subeta. The chai has been redone to be cute and cuddly, while the clawsion could be a bit more sleek and refined.<br />

I love, love, love, LOVE it!!! I think this revamp, more than all the others, is much closer to the original expression. Yes, I would fix the fur from bunching around the bracelets, give it a tail, and possibly make the feet larger. But if anything, I would make him fatter! I have never ever looked at a polar bear and thought sleek. Instead, I find it a minor miracle that they can swim at all with all that girth!
I really like the design of the new one but prefer the older ones face. It just looked so much more happy and cute.

God, no. This completely destroys the spirit of the pet, the proportions are all weird, and the thin linework seems unsuited to the design. The whole thing's just way too much of a departure from the Anyu we have now.<br />

I think you've done a wonderful job. The only thing I would change is adding a bit more fur to the paws below the bracers, and maybe making both bracers have the same design ( go for the greek design~ ::nudge-nudge:: ). I really don't understand why people want it to look less chubby. ...They're supposed to have that kind of weight on them. Anywho, Rah, lovely work. It's a vast improvement.
I love the new body, but the face is still too babyish, IMO. Either keep it a cub or make it an adult, but as it is, I think it's a little creepy. Otherwise, it looks great.

I was saying that it looks a lot different than a real polar bear. Polar bear paws aren't that dainty.
I don't like the cuffs because I always thought that it was fur and that the wings were attached to the feet. It'd also be nice if the snout was brown and maybe a tail. Otherwise, the art is a good improvement over the original.
I've been hoping for an Anyu revamp and I'm happy with it overall... but there are still some things I'd like tweeked. <br />

The feet bug me. The way the fur goes onto the bracelets at the top, but don't at the bottom looks extremely odd. The wings are too small as well. Another thing is it looks too fat. It needs to be a little more slender. The face is adorable though.

Better, but still not quite up to par. Overall, it seems quite stiff. I like the new design, especially for the cuffs, but the wings aren't very good and the way the fur comes over them seems odd. They need to be a bit more substantial and look like bracers instead of very thin bracelets. The toes and paws also look quite small in comparison to the old one and bears in general. At this angle, I think we should see a bit of the tail too. The eyes are nice, but the mouth and muzzle are off. I don't know how to describe it, but it doesn't look anatomically correct. I'd like to have the brown coloring back on the muzzle again also. The ears are weird too.<br />
