Profits were announced for 2007 and Claw Vending Co was in the red :(. To try and combat this (instead of closing down) they upped the prices to use their vending machines to 4 tokens. :(

I dunno, I was mad at first because the vending was how I made most of my money. Before the prise rise I've found other ways to get money by doing other quests though. I'll still gamble with the vending m., it's fun, but I won't be using them as much, which is sad because I did think they were really fun.<br />

Well - figured I'd check the OD and see if there was any difference in the value of the items - not yet, apparently. Granted, I only spent about 76 tokens total, but no item I received was worth 4 tokens.

I agree with some of the other users in that a cap on the number of times you can vend from each machine would work wonders for the economy. Quests have limits, they've always had limits as has any other games on the site that puts items into the economy. I suggested this a long time ago and got seriously yelled at, lol. I probably will now but with so many complaining about the increase in prices maybe a limit on the number of times would be better than an increase in price because an increase in price per vend will only work until the prices in shops level out to meet the items coming into the system and more people start over vending again. I whole heartedly agree that something needs to be done about the vending machines though and that any change will be better for the economy.

I think what irratates me the most about this is the the Wiz has been giving so many junk items lately too. Item that I usually get from the vending machines. It takes a special kind of talent to only spend 150 on a quests and and still come up with a loss. (:

I'd be inclined to use the ocean depths crane because I want that sword. I like getting all that stuff from the cranes because a lot of the time, you get something that is worth three times the amount of those four tokens you just spent to get that item. This is how I usually gain my sp... all that cra.great stuff I get from the cranes, throw them in my shop!

yerancek people can't help saying how they feel about things - especially if they're worried how it will effect them - but I agree that Keith is always looking at how ideas are working out and tweaking them so that they are the best for everyone. I'm confident the changes going on will be beneficial for the site by the time they are permanent. This isnt like some sites where the anonymous owners make changes when they feel like it. Keith cares about us and the site so I'm going to wait to see how it goes.

what I'm wondering is when you play the cranes, do you get more rare items? I wonder how this balances out tokens/prizes. I'm sure nobody knows exactly how better/worse the payoff is yet, but with twice the amount of tokens, I'd figure a better more rare item, or a few more than normal.... or if that's the case at all.<br />

If the number of a rare item is increased in any vending machine - more people will get it and it's value will go down. So it will cost twice as much to vend for an item that is worth less than it used to be.<br />

Honestly, you'd sacrifice the real cash that people spend on GA medals to increase their daily quests by 10, to try and bring the vending company out of the red? That seems to be the message you're sending. Here's my thoughts, I will not not spend anymore cash on GA medals, or anything (on Subeta) for that matter, until some steps are taken to actually improve the site. And, increasing prices on the vending machines is definitely not a step in the right direction. I know I'm not the only one feeling this way; what a horrible decision!!!

you want things to stop deflateing. put out more Sp. people who have money in excess usally want to spend more Sp not the other way around they want to hold onto their money if they feel squeezed. and when you increase the price of vending less people will want to buy or use tokens. your hurting things all around people dont vend shops dont have items and quests dont get done quests dont get done tokens dont make it back out into the system then prices go up. just watch for a week im not vending at all im gonna stand back and watch the havoc and laugh as the economy destroys itself. your going the wrong way with this to keep a economy running you dont make it worth less to stock a shop then you make. - just my thoughts nothing more -

I'll throw in my 2cents. The Ocean's Depths was verging on useless since the Subeautique items were removed. The vast majority of the stuff I got from there was worth less thank other machines (probably because of the number of people vending there), the only reason I go there is to catch up on new items, and the odd rare that it spits out. <br />

I understand some people are upset with the change. I am not a big vender, only going to the vending machines ocassionally, but I understand when most the things are worth under 1000sp. What I don't understand is the math some people are using. I get most of my tokens from the wiz. I usually pay under 10K and many times under 1K sp for a 15-10 point token. I just finished wiz for today making about 500 tokens for less than 35K spent. Even at the new rate of 4 tokens if I were to vend them that's 105 items which to make a profit need a combined value of 35K or higher...to me it would probably still be profitable.

I also tested a machine (OD) (obviously it will take time for the value to go back up), but after spending a 20 point wizard token, the combined value of the 5 items was 9499sP....another problem may also arise that if items go up too much in value, it may become too expensive to complete wizard quests.

It seems to me if sells are bad they should lower prices not raise them. And they should put more rare things in them including Subeutique and more riptides. Make people want to use them. Not take out the good stuff and raise prices. No one will want to use them.

As someone who swapped to this site from Neo because everything was so expansive there it took months to save enough points to get anything rare, i am very disappointed with this decision. People come to the site for fun, not to stress out trying to get something rare to make you HA more interesting.<br />

But I DID mind that OD, the machine that was supposed to be kinda cool and rare (since you need the map to get there) Basically became worthless after Subeutique items stopped getting vended, I mean, I didn't get them very often, but it made it worth my while.

This really sucks...I restock using the vending machines. I will not be able to keep my shop stocked at 1400-1700 items anymore. If anything the price should have gone down. There had better be some good items in the VM's.

They need a way to make large amounts of money occasionally to afford high priced items which are rare. Is this right in a nutshell?<br />
Inflation isnt a problem because people are always saying that prices have deflated. To stop inflation you curb spending (in the real world). So we need to encourage spending? I always thought the vending machines kept the economy going. People need tokens so they do quests. When they do quests they buy from user shops. People stock their shops from the vending machines - so it goes in a nice circle. If people think the vending machines aren't worth it they may not do as many quests and shop sales will go down and the economy will become stagnant.<br />
Would it work if you had more items only available from the machines, you had the recycle beast request more items (and put some more tempting rewards in the recycle beasts shop) and had the autopricer only work for items valued up to 100k (to help stop undercutting). <br />

well i dont think that at the current prices of tokens and the fact that it takes 2000 - 3000 tokens to stock a shop now the vending machienes are eating more tokens what a rip-off now i would have to spend 4000 - 6000 tokens to vend items that are already deflated to where you make barely more then you spend on the tokens.. i dont think ill be staying around subeta much longer sure you have uped the token amount from the wizard but not enough to even cover this.. i cant count the number of tokens i have vended this was poorly thought out. why not set 100 items for the recycleing beast to eat up. to help curb deflation. so it looks like ill be sitting on my tokens. they have become gallery items.

For new users, getting things from the token machines was a quick way to get started and both learn who carried what in the shops and to get plushies and beanbags for the trophies. Making the machines more expensive just makes it harder for new people to 'fit in' with the long time players.

i dont restock nor do i trade much, i made sps vending when the site wasnt horrible lagging which hasnt been anytime recently so for me this sucks. if they up the rarity of items the machines spit out maybe that'll change but at the moment its not worth it enless you have 20k tokens a day to put in and are extremly lucky always get dps which i dont.<br />

The only reason I even do the vending machine in the first place is to try to get an ice blade. So far all I've gotten for weeks is mainly cheap stuff. Guess I'll start saving those extra tokens for a while instead.

meh, *shrugs shoulders* I'm not a hardcore vender, but i know people who are and this doesn kinda suck considering the wiz is the only guy to get tokens. But i could see an increase in GA purchases (from Cash Shop) For the extra 10 quests... I do think its a little annoying because when i do vend the chances of getting a halfway decent item are like 1 maybe 2 in 30. But sense Buyable is now 1mill the economy has become unstable and things that were UB and Cost 600k now cost like 2 mill. Undercutters are the root of all evil in the subetian economy. I could price an item @1mill the first one, and within days sometimes hours the price of said item has deflated 300 sometime 400k i seen an item drop over half the original price within 3 shops because of undercutting. If the items in the vending machines were rare and special they're value would drop aswell, the reason an item is rare is because they're limited in quantity. Think ABout free items or trivia prizes if 1000 people get a rare trivia item suddenly theres 1k more of that item floating around. the so called junk isn't really junk, Its the undercutters making it so. I just think less people will vend, and save there tokens for the token shop releases. Maybe throw a chance at pulling a uncharted map peice into the randomness a slim chance but a chance pweeese *cute puppy eyes*

Well, it's a good theory but highly doubtful it'll work. I work in the stock market for a RL living and the government has been trying to do this for the last 6 months. Economy never works the way it's "supposed" to. Ah well, I've been drifting from Subeta more and more since the quest changes and this pretty much caps it for me. <br />

i have for a long time balanced my shop with the vending machines. 500 tokens would on an average day return me around 1.2 mil sp just a small profit, with the good item every now and then as a bonus. do the maths= 500 tokens (1 mil sp ) now to get the same return it will cost me 2 mil sp to get 1.2 mil sp for get it it must have taken some bright boys to think this one up... opps i guess i will be frozen for that but i am fast getting to the stage of not caring. when thing are working why change them???? thats what i think

The one I was really disappointed in was OD and ocassionally Prize Get!, but then again, I was trying for the Riptide earlier on and still getting a lot of Subetatique items. Like I said before, I'm one who does vend a lot, but most of the items I'd keep (heck, I'd even do that with the wiz or the other quests). However, if I got items that were deflated in the shops, I'd send them to the DC, not try to undercut what's already been undercutted. I think that you guys should try to do the same instead of griping about how this has ruined your vending... It's just a game, guys...<br />

great, since i can't restock for crap, the vending machines are how i make my money. i used to be able to make about a million a day through quests and vending, but i'm lucky to break even on quests now, so the vending was all i had left. guess i'm screwed. seems if you aren't a restocker there's no real way to make money now.

At first glance this is infuriating, beyond infuriating in fact. We're all familiar with the junk that can come out of those machines. Keith you appear to be a young man with a good head on your shoulders. You've created a site that's both fun and relaxing to play. We'll have to see what you've stocked the machines with and how our shop sales go. I don't suppose the Wiz will now be giving 20 point tokens to compensate? I do have to question your timing on this, with all the down time in the past week was it a good idea to throw something like this at us at this time? I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see what the machines are stocked with. Even if all the junk has been removed and higher priced items have been put in it'll only be a matter of days before the undercutters render them junk as well and we'll be right back to vending worthless items, at double the price. I just hope you know what you're doing and this site doesn't go down the Neo road (being too annoying to bother with).

I think its a bad idea. More people will stop spending the tokens at the vending machines and start selling them in shops making them deflate and, as the wizard seems to ask for a lot of expensive stuff, it wont be worth doing the quests!

I really don't like this idea. We pay out the ...for wiz quest to get the tokens. What I used to get with 2 tokens overfilled my inventory, now with the cost at 4 my items were cut by half. And what I received was nothing more than what I had already been getting. I really think you need to revise this idea, or up the chances of better items.I also don't think the quest need to ask for so many items either, but.........anywho.

Vending machines have played havoc with the already unstable economy. Anyone who vends on a regular basis can tell you what the common items are from a machine and with thousands of tokens being pumped into the machines daily that is a hell of a lot of common items flooding the market. <br />
<br />
With the token amount doubled, there will be half as many items flooding the market, and after a bit, the prices will start to even out and (in theory) vending will start to be more profitable again.<br />
<br />
This will also help by making restocking a bit more profitable as well, as there will be less items flooding the market from vending so prices should rise some given enough time.<br />
<br />
Again, I know people profits will be down for a bit as the market needs time to adjust, but it really is best for the economy as a whole I believe and I'm extremely happy that Keith (or whomever made this decision) decided to go through with it.

I, personally, don't vend a lot. I do wiz quests and sell the tokens. But,, I think this was a good move. People are vending a lot, and the 'economy' is being flooded with junk items that aren't worth anything, just because they've been vending so many times. If this causes people to stop vending for awhile, I see that as a good thing, and maybe prices will go up, yes?

Normally I'm not a complainer. I didn't complain when doing wizard quests became less profitable. I didn't complain when the Saggitarius quests became harder. But now the vending machines are more expensive too? After the changes, these were my main source of income. I always liked the fact that Subeta was the kind of virtual pet site where you didn't need to be on for weeks on a row to get the pets and items you wanted. Sure, it's not all bad, but still, the easy-money aspect is gone now. Let's face it, you've changed Subeta... (But I still love it though. :p)

Anyone ever stop and think that the REASON vending didn't make very much profit at 2 tokens is because people were vending too much and flooding the market with items that became worthless? If anything this will make vending more profitable in the long run because less people vending=less market flooding of items. At least until everyone catches on and jumps on the craze again and cuts their own throats (so to speak) by over vending. Never could figure out why there were no limits in place from the beginning when everything else on the site has limits to avoid damaging the already fragile economy here. I think this is a good move, even if it's only a temporary fix at best.

well i tried to get into suggestions and ideas, but i cant so i am going to post here..my thought is that the vending machines are in the red because tokens cost so much and you only get that rare item now and then. now we have to use 4 tokens which averages 6000.00 and for what? to get a jumper that costs 100.00. and maybe, and i mean maybe.....get a rare item. i say either lower the cost of tokens or put better items in the machines and you will see a big turn around. thanks for letting me vent. have a great day!

Vending was one of the things that I really enjoyed about Subeta, and I thought the price was pretty fair considering you get common, not so good items most of the time.<br />

Well this doesn't make me happy. I guess I am done with vending machines and will just horde tokens. I barely break even on vending machines. 9 times out of 10 the tokens cost more then the return on items. This is just really messed up.

Actually, I think it's a good idea =3 I use the vending machines all the time, and right now I don't think many will profit from it, but as the cheaper items are being used, the prices will surely move up, and make a profit again. Although I must admit my jaw dropped to see the price doubled XD<br />

Does this mean your going to put better things in the machines? Because right now, the crap that's there doesn't equal to the value of even 2 tokens. Unless by some miracle you get an un-buyable which is about 1% of a chance.
