Awoke to a wild chai bathing in the spring, appeared to be field colored - Possibly a lost or abandoned pet? Moving startled it away, but noticed that plants had started to take root in its fur. Sad.

Many different species seem to call this area home. Spotted an antlephore, then shortly after, a kanis. Both field? Very odd. Both also had growth in their fur.
Side effect of local plant life? More investigation needed. Collected soil and water samples for further analysis.

While I do think this is pet color related, I don't think this is a revamp of Field: if it were then I'd expect to see stories developed for the other basic colors as well. I think it's a new color entirely, and I think you'll be able to change your pet into it after they've interacted with the water highlighted in the last entry.
So she's gonna start growing flowers out of her skin after drinking that water? Maybe? xD;;
