Now, does anyone wonder why the Islanders would give /any/ offering, much less the presumably highly spiritual "Final Offering" to her? Quote from Subetapedia:

If anything is being deified by the Islanders, it's either the guardian beast or the sea itself. The sea is what the gold bits were being given to and they were being given to /protect/ from Merana and her minions!!! Want proof? Look back at the news from 2 weeks ago and read the intro to the Hydrus Kerubi.
