Something is different here... Oh! Right, welcome to the new Subeta! We have worked very hard over the past few months to create a new layout that is easier for everyone to browse.
Here are some of the biggest changes that we've made with the new layout:
- The layout is now fluid in width, which means that it will resize itself depending on the size of your browser window. This lets us make things around the site fit the entire screen, and not feel so cramped.
- Widgets! These are the boxes on the left side of your screen. You can change the ones that are shown here. There are some really cool ones like showing your friend feed, the amount of quests you've done for the day, and more! They can also be dragged and moved around the sidebar, or hidden.
- Dashboard / Events: The dashboard is where the widgets live, and the events pane is where your events will live! You can change your preferences here, to how you would like the dashboard to act. We suggest setting it to smart so that you are notified when you have new events!
- Dropdowns, which means that we don't have to use up the entire sidebar for the navigation. We've reorginized the links to make a little more sense, and allow you to move around the site easier.
You may have noticed that your CustomCSS and your Pet Profiles have been cleared. They generally aren't compatible with the new layout, but we did save your coding and you can find it here! Feel free to copy it and paste it back into your CustomCSS/Pet Profiles, just be warned that everything might not work the same!
You can leave your feedback for the new layout here. We will be making changes to the new layout as we see problems (or things that should be changed).
Thank you for sticking with us and remaining loyal to Subeta, we really appreciate it and have worked really hard to make this layout as easy to use as we could. If you have any problems, please report them here, so that we can fix them quickly.

This is great. We can put our avatar in the side bar, why not our active pet, as well?
I don't like it personally. The news is cramped together and you have to fiddle to find things. The new pet layouts do not allow you to see the overlays a lot of us paid millions to have on our pets as well. I would rather see a option for Subeta users to choose which layout they want to see and use, I could see that making a lot more Subeta users happy. Just sayin :/
I love the artwork and the concept of the layout but overall just... no.
It reminds me too much of the Neopets layout with the drop-down menus and all.
I'm also having issues wit my pet's saved coding. Instead of just 4 items across the treasure chests now show 8 items per row, which is absolutely devastating to me because I put SO much time into organizing and putting items in specific orders that are just meant to be 4 across. If my pet's profile is changed this way permanently then... idk /: treasure chests are one of my favorite parts of the site.
I realize things can't stay the old way forever but I think the new way is just too drastic and impractical.

Okay wow... I was completely lost for a few minutes there after logging in but a lot of the new stuff seems like it's going to be pretty useful once I get used to it. Subeta loads slower now though, that's really the only real bad thing I have to say.
I dont mind the changes but i have one issue with how the text in the news post is sitting. In my browser some of the wording is almost overlapping the line above or below it. Also a warning might have been nice, i logged in and nearly panicked.

Eew... It's lagging my browser, nearly froze it -twice-, and took eleven minutes to load. Not just the first time, but damn near to the same amount every time. And I detest the fluid width. There is no sense in being forced to move my eyes eight inches across a screen just to read one sentence; that's insanity. But I certainly can't just make the window thinner and let everywhere else I browse have side-scrolling. That's just disgusting.

I have to say I love the new look, but must also comment on two points. Firstly, half of this current page of comments is in black and can't be read so I'm not sure what's going on there. Secondly, yes you warned us that our pet profiles may not work properly with the new layout and I'm not really happy with that. I can fully understand where other members who do artwork for sale to members would find this off-putting. I am currently having one made for one of my pets and yet I will be unable to use it now as the pet profiles run into the Navigation Bar and don't centre on the screen properly like they should do. Other than that, I love the new look as it is refreshing to have something that fits across my whole screen and is colourful and vibrant. Well done guys! I hope you are able to fix the minor glitches though <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" />

The code they saved for my pet pages is drastically altered with weird symbols and "&" signs so that I can not transfer and use it.

OMG Just checked out the optional site layout colors. GORGEOUS. Especially the Masquerade version!
I dig it! will take time to get used to, and it does lag a bit, but these are all trivial. I'm just waiting for new themes...you guys will be doing those again, right? I loved the plushie one.

I know this is pretty irrelevant but I'm just LOLING at everyone that's bitching about how bad they are with change, or whatever. Better get used to that because the world's not gonna stay the same forever. Especially with something like a website. If everything stayed the same forever, the world would be boring, wouldn't it? I guess I view change a lot different after being like forced to move 10+ times. This kind of beautiful change, I definitely know is for the better!
Personally, I hate it. The old Subeta was much easier to navigate, and this new one takes forever to load. This is a huge step backwards for Subeta. The layout is confusing to people like me who are accustomed to the old ways. Your changing your layout like Neopets did. I left Neopets, and now I will leave Subeta. I'm very sad. Goodbye, everyone.
The artwork is gorgeous, but I'm seeing a lot of the same glitches that the GA users posted during testing. (logging out, dashboard items reopening going to a new page, major lag, long lists scrolling down beyond the white box (past the copyright footer) so the black text is unreadable on the black background. As I write this, I can barely make out the Note: warning below the comment box because of the black on black. The lag is so bad that my daughter keeps timing out on her laptop before pages can load, and we have DSL.
I also think sometimes Subeta staff assumes a certain tech knowledge in its users that isn't always necessarily present. My daughter had no clue what a widget was, and I've read several posts in the Bugs forum that are along those lines. Perhaps a link to a quick tutorial or a map of the new layout and where things were would have been useful.

It's beautiful.. but it lags me so much..
I normally go on my ipod and so far the links will just freeze up now.
Even on a normal CPU it still goes slower then ever.

I love, love, LOVE the new layout! I was getting really tired of seeing a Kanis on the front page every time I log in. XD I also love the artwork and the dropdown menus are nice.

Could there possibly be a layout that didn't have the postcard images at the top, or maybe had a color combination of one color+white, or had a simpler image at the top? I really don't like super-busy layouts. |c

The new setup is very nice! I especially like seeing the quests over to the side, it simplifies things to see which ones I've done.
Dude, this is ten times as cool as Rescreatu's V2, and I didn't have to wait for two days for it to be updated. Subeta rocks.

Okay, I am confused as hell. Now I have to recode all my pets, and my one Custom CSS doesnt work. And that makes me sad, as the graphics were gorgeous and I never screencapped them.
The dropdown menus are confusing, and it's not really all that fluid, in my opinion. And the blue. My god. I hated that from the getgo. I loved my reborn coloring on everything. I hope somewhere in this mess is an option to get it back. This is going to take a lot of getting used to. sigh Couldn't it have waited until after Morostide?

I liked the older one, to me, it was just simpler. I'm not really fond of how most sites I use now are going to drop down menus :/
There is also a lot of unnecessary non-interactive parts, while the interactive parts are pretty small.

when I scroll down on THIS page, there's no background on the bottom o_o it's a very big change, thank you for your hard work. I like the layout except for the dropdown menu... everything is dropdown on every sites nowadays, I'm kinda sick of it. no offence. and we need a search bar next to the menu <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />

Ok... Now that I have used this new layout for a while, OMG!! I love it. I have not timed it but I even think the pages are loading faster. My only suggestion would be to make the clock easier to read.
