Something is different here... Oh! Right, welcome to the new Subeta! We have worked very hard over the past few months to create a new layout that is easier for everyone to browse.
Here are some of the biggest changes that we've made with the new layout:
- The layout is now fluid in width, which means that it will resize itself depending on the size of your browser window. This lets us make things around the site fit the entire screen, and not feel so cramped.
- Widgets! These are the boxes on the left side of your screen. You can change the ones that are shown here. There are some really cool ones like showing your friend feed, the amount of quests you've done for the day, and more! They can also be dragged and moved around the sidebar, or hidden.
- Dashboard / Events: The dashboard is where the widgets live, and the events pane is where your events will live! You can change your preferences here, to how you would like the dashboard to act. We suggest setting it to smart so that you are notified when you have new events!
- Dropdowns, which means that we don't have to use up the entire sidebar for the navigation. We've reorginized the links to make a little more sense, and allow you to move around the site easier.
You may have noticed that your CustomCSS and your Pet Profiles have been cleared. They generally aren't compatible with the new layout, but we did save your coding and you can find it here! Feel free to copy it and paste it back into your CustomCSS/Pet Profiles, just be warned that everything might not work the same!
You can leave your feedback for the new layout here. We will be making changes to the new layout as we see problems (or things that should be changed).

I don't have drop down menu's and I can't get my dash to show up only events. Any hints to making them work?
I guess it's going to take me some time to get you used to it. My only two problems with the layout are: 1) the colour scheme 2) that picture of the postcard on top of the screen. It is too big and it even ends up covering the name of the webside on the bar behind it.
I absolutely adore this new layout, thanks! Although it might take me a day or so to get used to it, haha.

This is going to take a while to get used to but I love it. There's no huge empty space anymore! Hurrah!

I do like the widgets, and I'm glad there's a navigation widget so I can still use the site as if there was a sidebar. But if we're using the navigation widget, there should be some way to turn off the top bar or get rid of the drop down menus or something...because it looks cluttered to have both a top and side bar. And the drop down menus are useless to me since I'm using the navigation widget. Being able to get rid of the drop down menus might make the pages load faster.
I didn't particularly like the drop-down menus first few days of beta...but I much prefer them now. ...just takes a bit of time to get used to I think <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />

Eck. I really like the look of it, but I'm horrible adjusting to such big changes. I'll get used to it after a while though.

I am unsure if I like it that much...

To access the list of forums click the tab that says Forums. you can click those tabs you know.
To view your own userlookup just click your username on the sidebar where it says how much SP you have out, your active pet and everything. And if you don't have it, go to Prefs then to Customize Sidebar and put 'My Account' on your widget list.

I guess I'll get used to this soon, but I'd like more layout choices, especially a dark one like the bloodred we used to have because even Shadowglen has all these pastel colors.
oh! i complained too much! i forgot to mention how warm and snugly the new layout feels! i love the way it looks! it has a nice comfortable feel to it, while being very smooth, and plenty of free space. =)
i'm still getting used to the new layout.............. it's really hard to not automatically go to my left when i want to access my inventory or go to the top right for a my vault with an automatic quick click. could we have quick links? maybe with time? for other things? like.. just a top few. i don't know... i'll be able to adjust with time and practice. =)

Agree with Nachtwind. If you have a large screen size, it looks incredibly awkward. It's driving me crazy.

But no, this is completely different. The new layout is quite pretty and modern. It will take some getting used to though. I'm sure the staff will work out all the kinks soon.

My only complaint is that it reminds me allot of what they did to Neopets... I hate to compare sites to each other, but indeed the first thing that stroke my mind was wajas X neopets. Pretty but even slower than before. And I still find it very sad that nothing stays, here. Everything is destroyed and rebuilt over and over, be it the pets, the site, whatever. All just for the sake of being prettier. Ohwell. Just here for a visit, anyway, so my opinion doesn't count!
In the graveyard theme my subeta clock is covered up. I'll expect the drag from so many users getting on. Looks very beautiful!!! I can't wait to see how ya'll gonna update the lands and their looks. Just for this i'm gonna spend $20 in the cash shop. Ya'll done real good!!!
Hmm. It's pretty great. But, not used to the "spaciness" of it. Like how everyone's comment is spread out on one line...Sorry, it makes me go cross-eyed when I try to read a comment. XD Love the layout though. Very nice.
The reason it reminds so much of Neopets is because there's both a top bar AND a big annoying sidebar taking up space on the left side. If you've got a top bar you don't need a side bar. It makes the screen look so cluttered. And Neopets does the same thing.
I'll always find sidebars more convenient than top bars with drop-down menus. Just because drop-down menus are a newer trend doesn't automatically make them better.
But if you HAVE to have drop-down menus, it's better to do them more like Gaia does them. Everything is confined to the top menu, so there's no need to still have a big sidebar on the side. New events and stuff come up in the top bar. And up until recently there was a place in the top right corner where you could quickly get to a few of your most used links, like your inventory and mail.
I also like how Gaia's drop down menus are big boxes which show pictures next to the links. It's easier to see where you're going and click on the proper thing, instead of having to scroll through a list of tiny links.
With a little list of tiny links in a small box, it's easy to click on the wrong link, or even accidentally move slightly and end up hovering over a different menu. Also, Gaia's menus are all the over to the left, which is more natural for a westerner than seeing all the menus smooshed over on the right side of the screen.

Please, make it smaller. Well, okay, it's just my screen that's wide, but it makes everything quite sloppy. Especially searching shops. Too much to move around.
