Something is different here... Oh! Right, welcome to the new Subeta! We have worked very hard over the past few months to create a new layout that is easier for everyone to browse.
Here are some of the biggest changes that we've made with the new layout:
- The layout is now fluid in width, which means that it will resize itself depending on the size of your browser window. This lets us make things around the site fit the entire screen, and not feel so cramped.
- Widgets! These are the boxes on the left side of your screen. You can change the ones that are shown here. There are some really cool ones like showing your friend feed, the amount of quests you've done for the day, and more! They can also be dragged and moved around the sidebar, or hidden.
- Dashboard / Events: The dashboard is where the widgets live, and the events pane is where your events will live! You can change your preferences here, to how you would like the dashboard to act. We suggest setting it to smart so that you are notified when you have new events!
- Dropdowns, which means that we don't have to use up the entire sidebar for the navigation. We've reorginized the links to make a little more sense, and allow you to move around the site easier.
You may have noticed that your CustomCSS and your Pet Profiles have been cleared. They generally aren't compatible with the new layout, but we did save your coding and you can find it here! Feel free to copy it and paste it back into your CustomCSS/Pet Profiles, just be warned that everything might not work the same!
You can leave your feedback for the new layout here. We will be making changes to the new layout as we see problems (or things that should be changed).
Thank you for sticking with us and remaining loyal to Subeta, we really appreciate it and have worked really hard to make this layout as easy to use as we could. If you have any problems, please report them here, so that we can fix them quickly.

Wow, pretty impressive, guys, pretty darned impressive. Now I just have to hope that all the pet profiles I spent hours on over the past week will work with the new coding! XD

I logged on...and I was AMAZED. I love the new look, it makes Subeta look so much more...professional (for lack of a better word?)
Awesome! When I first logged on I was Like HUH? who are You, where am I? for like two seconds...and then, GASP! New layout!! Personally, I welcome change ^^...the new layout is lovely.
Will take some getting used to like any new thing. I also have a widescreen so it does look kind of odd but will get used to it in due time.
After a certain point, the news comments don't have a white background anymore...but I really like this!

I tested it before I loved it, I think this is a nice new direction. I'm not used to it but I'll adapt as any good working human should.

I'm LOVING this new layout but I have just ONE itsy-bitsy question. How can I find ALL the forums instead of just my new posts and new topics? There must be an easier way to find out --I just haven't figured that out yet. I was SO glad to see this new format as it's updated and much easier to use.

I kind of miss the feel of the old layout, but I welcome the new look. It'll take some time getting used to.

I actually have no problem with speed so I'm not quite sure what the direct problem is with some peoples speed but it may be they have less of a capacity than my computer.

I love the layout personally. <3 I do think there should be an option to revert back since some people prefer the old layout.

o.o other then barf and green not being my favs i dont quite have any probs with it i like the change and glad you guys did i just wish there were more colors.. instead of ... one ... thats all good work i like it the art wrok on top is nice too i just wish the colors were more <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" /> instead of a pea soup color

I like how you've made the layout eye-catching and beautiful, yet simple, organized and easy to follow. Normally when people make an update like this, they lose one of those three aspects. But this is great- good work! It'll take some getting used to, though. xD
Jadem - It took me about 15 minutes to get all of my pets' profiles back into shape, since like the news post says, the coding was saved. I also have 19 pets or something like that, so <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />

Leander, I have to agree with you. People screaming about how this site is turning into Neopets just makes me laugh. Subeta is leaps and bounds better than Neopets and it always will be, and the biggest part is that the users are actually allowed to give feedback on things.
I think this new layout is fantastic. Honestly though green isn't a color I like looking at, so I at least hope there will be different color layouts available later. But if not, I'll deal <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> I'm not even bothering reading through the complaints, lol.
I love the drop-down menus. They keep everything so much less cluttered, plus they're just plain snazzy. I'm loving the "bigger" feel of this layout, mainly because I have a giant monitor and hate squished things!

oh guys this turned out amazing!!!!!!!! I'm so glad this is as pretty and functional as it is. LOL. I loooove this! And Neopets pssssht. I can still say Ass and communicate with staff members if I need to LOL. This is sooo much better than Neo.

We still have excellent art quality; we still dress up human avatars and not pets; we still are allowed to talk about whatever we please; we still have dark and evil pets rather than all of our pets being super cutesy and cartoony; we still have items that Neo would never dare put up; we still have a site that caters to the older crowd and not seven-year-old girls; and most importantly, WE STILL HAVE A STAFF THAT LISTENS AND CARES.
They're asking for our feedback, rather than pulling a Neo and saying "well, if you don't like it, quit; we'll have ten new members for every one of you that quits."
If you people seriously think that Subeta is turning into Neopets, then I suspect that you just can't adapt to change.
It's natural for things to change over time. Seriously. That old layout was outdated; this is the style now, and it's MUCH more professional-looking.
The staff worked VERY hard on this layout, and it's extremely rude to say "this layout sucks" or "the art sucks" :/ The art is of a very high quality -- ALL of the layouts have some very impressive artwork; it's hard to choose which to use! -- and the layout is very clean and well-organized. The widgets offer customization which the old layout didn't. I bet that we'll be getting more widgets in the future, too...
Think it sucks? Tell them why. Be CONSTRUCTIVE, tell them what's wrong. The staff listens and we have customCSS for what the staff won't change. A lot of CSS-savvy users here are very nice, and I'm sure that pretty soon they'll have come up with an alternate layout for the people that really don't like this one.
Just saying "this sucks/this is crap" makes you look like an ungrateful jerk and makes it less likely for people to want to help you with your issues.
Now... if you'll excuse me, I'm off to figure out the new pet profiles so I can get started on a few. ;D

I liked it when it was tested for gold users and with the changes since then I love it. Much easier on the eyes and I like all the customizable widgets on the side. Only probable I have is it takes a bit longer to load...or at least I think it's the layout causing it. Can't tell since it no longer has how many people are online so it could just be lots of people online now.
The only things I would like different are that a new news posts is announced under events and the number of people online is at the top with the time.

Its been a little laggy for me to. Not bad at one point thought I could see the old Subeta layout O_O
It's absolutely beautiful and I can't even imagine the time put into this, but it's completely laggard on my firefox browser.

As pretty as this new layout is, I'm hopeful you're still working on some things. I have a big monitor so all text stretches and is a chore to read. Plus I'm so used to how everything was conveniently located on the sidebar, this new drop down menu makes things take longer to get to...

I absolutely love the new layout! Having a large screen, I was always having to squint, even with my glasses, to see things on the old layout. Things are now much easier! Thanks for all of your hard work Keith and Subeta staff! hugs
