Something is different here... Oh! Right, welcome to the new Subeta! We have worked very hard over the past few months to create a new layout that is easier for everyone to browse.
Here are some of the biggest changes that we've made with the new layout:
- The layout is now fluid in width, which means that it will resize itself depending on the size of your browser window. This lets us make things around the site fit the entire screen, and not feel so cramped.
- Widgets! These are the boxes on the left side of your screen. You can change the ones that are shown here. There are some really cool ones like showing your friend feed, the amount of quests you've done for the day, and more! They can also be dragged and moved around the sidebar, or hidden.
- Dashboard / Events: The dashboard is where the widgets live, and the events pane is where your events will live! You can change your preferences here, to how you would like the dashboard to act. We suggest setting it to smart so that you are notified when you have new events!
- Dropdowns, which means that we don't have to use up the entire sidebar for the navigation. We've reorginized the links to make a little more sense, and allow you to move around the site easier.
You may have noticed that your CustomCSS and your Pet Profiles have been cleared. They generally aren't compatible with the new layout, but we did save your coding and you can find it here! Feel free to copy it and paste it back into your CustomCSS/Pet Profiles, just be warned that everything might not work the same!
You can leave your feedback for the new layout here. We will be making changes to the new layout as we see problems (or things that should be changed).

Okay, I thought the fitting screen was nice, but its too big and takes too long to load. This is more of me reporting a problem rather then just complaining. It is nice, but it takes too long to load and it's freezing up my computer. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif" border="0" />
my god this layout is terrible. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/smiley_sadface.gif" border="0" /> I have a huge screen and having it fill up like this is an eye sore. And I hate the drop downs. They're crap. They're always crap on every site. :| I hate having my alerts on the left.

i think some people really need to explore the widgets, because there's a widget that puts navigation on the side of the screen. :|

It /is/ much more well done than the new Neopets layout.. I'm not complaining, i like it fine, you all did a great job ^-^

Damn drop downs. I hate them, just like neo, slow and confusing. The rest of it I like though, the color scheme is nice and the screen fits nicely.
Well, I'll have to get used to it. But okay. I almost pissed my pants when I saw it. I was like WHAT HAPPENED HOLY GOD NO. I'm over it now.^^
I feel very confused and lost with this new layout and feel that its much like the Neopets one.
I don't like accessing things from the bar at the top. Could I have mine back on the side like before. Also because you only see the main headings, I feel like I can access far less of the site than before.

I like it, gives it a bit more class. The only thing I dont like is the lack of a new news alert like the little dotted box on the old layout. I would love to have a widget or something that will alert me when there is new news

I'd much rather have the older version or even a..less heavy version of this one. It's taken 3 minutes just to load this page and my computer is usually /extremely/ fast.
The news box jumps to the right and back repeatedly on my browser and screen resolution as well. I am currently using FF3 with a resolution of 1280x1024.
Overall its definitely pleasant on the eyes for the most part (there are a few bugs on my computer) but its far to heavy and takes quite a while to load. While I appreciate the fact that you've decided to update the site, I do wish that it were a lot more user-friendly.

I was gonna scream and shout, 'cause I don't like the drop-downs, but I was relieved to find the navigation widget and put it on my sideboard - it is much more user-friendly! The art is nice, too. I only have to change the resolution, so that an ugly dark stripe will disappear from the right side of the map XD I guess I can get used to the new Subeta <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />
and here I thought it was slow/laggy on Windows. Even worse when im on my linux box =/

You guys who are bashing this need to learn some manners. Constructive criticism is what's needed if you don't like it. "This layout sucks" is more rude than you could ever imagine. How would you like to work your ass of for something you think thousands of users would like, or at least agree upon (because so many of you guys throw out 'I want this!' or 'I don't want this!') and to have comments like that pop up? You guys need to learn some tact. If you don't like it, shut up or leave. I can't believe you people. I really think you should be suspended from this site for being so rude.
I appreciate you wanting to make things better for the site, but I have a 20" screen and this isn't exactly better.

Hmmm...I think the new layout has potential to have a seasonal change. Like a special Morostide layout or a Firside Layout.

I like the layout, cept the top with the welcome to subeta/glade area it seems very squished like its being cut off.
I prefer the older version, honestly. This one reminds me far too much of neopets. It's also a little harder to navigate, especially on older computers that don't like loading drop-down menus. If I tried to access this site on my crappy internet back home, I would never get past the front page unless I had every link bookmarked.
An option to use the old or new layout would be nice. But I could get used to the laggy neopetty one if I needed to. (I got used to Neo's layout after a year or so, so it wouldn't be too terrible to do the same thing here.)

I'm sorry but I really liked the old subeta and it was very easy to navigate. I have no idea where anything is now. I won't quit, but I wont enjoy subeta like I used to.

With my 1680 pixel screen width the site certainly looks different. That will take some getting used to, but I think I'll adjust to the change as a whole pretty fast. I already adore the earth tones of the (I presume) default colour scheme.
Its lovely, but really, this makes my comp kinda laggy and the event tab changes reaallly slowly :C
