The 6th Anniversary of the Great Pandemic tragedy begins today, a festival commonly known as ‘Survival’ by the citizens of Subeta. You may wish to join the celebration or pay your respects to those that left us in years past. Citizens are reminded that Shadowglen is off-limits for the duration of the Survival Celebration -- The Unliving have their own rituals and do not appreciate intrusion from outsiders. They do, however, welcome fledgling zombies into their community, and whilst there has been a lull population growth for the last two years, we have a certain…dare I say exceedingly handsome? young entrepreneur who may have the solution to this problem. I spoke Mr. Gunner Knight earlier today, and he had this to say about the situation.

I paid 750,000sp yesterday for the growth virus and haven't got it yet, why's everything taking so long...?
It's absolutely awesome that you brought back the old infection strains! Thank you so much! And you can even choose which one you want! I'm only a bit disappointed with the lamour parlour items this year. Last year I went crazy about all the items and wanted to buy the whole shop. This year, there is nothing I really want. I'm really hoping for more items to come and especially for pretty items from the CW contest!
Im with @SparkieSharkie on this... I thought the back door might have been a possible plot, a warning would have been nice since i was so head over heels on an old virus.... BUT NOPE... I'm stuck with leaches or some sort of sucker fish thingie :/
I'm quite upset there was not a "are you sure" popup warning when clicking on the "back door" option, I thought it may have been something plot related OR a separate page like "you can do this if" and click there. Not click that and BAM you can't buy a virus. Now I have to wait for whatever I have to progress and then hope I can find the right people to bite me? This is not cool.
The only things I'm loving more than Gunner here are those new short-haired wigs from Skitters and Louis' shops. They are seriously some of the best-looking wigs ever released imo, bless you artists.

Love the plushies, but one question? Why does the Feli get no love? It has been so long since any feli plushies have come out save for Peka Boo festival, and well he kind of didn't resemble any feli. IJS. Thanks for reading my whine! Love you guys <3

Woops. Completely forgot about Survival coming up, and used one of the vials the other day for Alchemist access. /facepalm Well, I did nearly forget my own birthday and Valentine's, too, so. Guess I gotta hope it wears off in time for me to still get one of the strains. >_< (Unless there's a cure for the vials that I couldn't find? I hadn't actually used one since last year.)

I get that the creative team has shrunk - although personally I think it's needed added too for a while now - and that is a reason for smaller events, sure, but not so much a long term one. I'm not explaining that super well but basically it seems like half the time we hear stuff is cut back because the team is down atm, and half the time we hear it's a policy/going forward change. It should really be the latter, but it feels so much more like the former.

I was old time zombie .. Virus was what i was been from day one .. then i noticed skitter wouldnt let me in .. seems from issuing a ticket about it .. the snowball fight we had .. took my long time zombie away .. they we nice to give me a skin to replce it but now what ,, i only see this year items in the zombie den .. i lost all the time i was a zombi .. now dont know whats up with infections .. i just want my zombie back from years ago .. i am so confused and lost
To people asking why their viruses haven't shown up immediately after being bitten, in years past, when you got infected, the strain didn't show up right away. Sometimes, if I'm remembering right, you wouldn't actually see anything different for a few hours, or not until the next day because they made it like an actual 'virus' that will grow slowly. Just because you're infected, doesn't mean it's instant that you see results or effects to what you're infected with. Just sayin'.
And if I remember right... you get hearts by kissing don't you? I don't remember.... 8/ I wasn't hear last year and it's been too long since I've done one of these events since lol. But all in all, very cool alternative to the usual way of being zombified. So many people unhappy with the thought of never having the chance to get zombie skins again, esp with the new wardrobe feature of taking off the skin and all. So, that's cool. =)

The items are killer. I'm loving all those sleek, gorgeous barrel rolls and pompadours. Stunning. Reminds me of me when I do victory rolls with a mini-pinwheel in my bangs ;w;

The VIP page just changed for me. I had the Thoughtful, Dark option (500k) marked in green, and now I'm seeing that banner on the news. Not even seeing the options
Really curious about this event... When we get the base can we get reinfected? If yes, I guess we'll be able to unlock at least 2 bases. I wish we could unlock more, but that's awesome!

Blanche - Your previous base is safe, it's in the base system which means that it won't be altered by anything that happens this year, as long as you've got it unlocked there :)
Yeah, I'm waiting for the FAQ on that, as I want to be 100% sure my previous skin is safe even if I join for one or two new bases. (presuming we have to wait until they're completely developed to get bitten again, that is)

On another note, I'm glad there are fewer items, I never have time to get enough hearts to buy all the things I want. I'm okay with it.

I have a theory that the strains available through biting this year won't be exactly the same as the original strains. For a few reasons:
1. When the wardrobe skins thing was made, Keith said they had no plans to release old zombie skins. Of course that can change, but it wasn't that long ago.
2. The staff refuse to show previews and are being a bit secretive about the strains, even not showing previews of the old strains. This makes sense only if they are not the same.
3. The strains available this year aren't called the same thing as the original strains. No reason to do this otherwise.
4. If zombie den access is currently based on possessing an old skin (now that all skins are in wardrobe) then giving out the old skins would give access to old years, which doesn't seem like a fair idea. So therefore the infections available this year would need to be slightly different.
5. Doing it this way allows people to get similar old strains without annoying old zombies who have kept their skin for ages.
Just a theory. :) Looking forward to seeing what happens.

@Tribunal We have maybe 14 items less than we did for 2013. Instead of focusing on just items for the Den and Louis' Shop, we have more infections as well as items we'll be adding elsewhere during Survival. :) We want to move away from doing a crazy amount of items for just one shop, especially because our creative team is small, and hit a number of our features!

I also have not gotten an event about receiving my virus... Is the event not supposed to be instant?
@Amber... that's why I said short on everything. Past years may have been wear-heavy (which I get moving away from) but they also seemed to have more of everything, other collection items included.

Oh never mind, apparently wardrobe lagged and did not save when I tried to remove my previous zombie skin/base. Still, kinda confused here.
Will people who pounCed the old infection get to buy from the latter years? With my older strain I was able to buy from 2011? 2010? and up. Ann I not able to get that back when the survival is over? Old shop will open later but... I don't get it? I picked the new infection since I was unable to get past infections since I kept my older one so long... time for change I guess
So I was in the forum and someone just bit me... and now I am (again) a zombie but have no idea what happened. Couldn't even choose my strain. There really isn't all that much info and now I guess I can't do anything I wanted because someone chose my path for me. Not very amused (though the event is looking interesting). Oh well sigh should have imagined that the forum is dangerous.

Also, being able to immediately click to a new strain ? Great way for users to go broke without having a Stop ! You're already infected ! popup or any way to stop them ? I LOVE Survival, I do. I just want this to go smoothly. I've switched three times now, and I'm not sure we should be able to do that. Once because there were no previews or anything, once to see what I did and a third to test if I could switch.

Kellijuana - Skitters has his shop outside of the underground, and is open to everyone. Right now he's just selling his new stock, but plans to bring back his old items soon :) You can get a new infection if you aren't wearing your base, and you can only be a infector if you're wearing your base. :)
I can't wait to see what the perfumes are! I haven't been so excited for an event in a very long time.
Questions questions questions. So, if in a zombie but not wearing my skin can I sign up to be a VIP and get a new skin? Or can I only be a specialist? Do we have to wear our skin to be a specialist? When you say new items only...? (I know it says old items later but) Are the old shops going to be closed to old zombies as well from now on, like more like the other seasonal shops where the old years retire as we go?
I've missed this for the last few years - does laying flowers on the memorial do anything? Are the flowers used for anything else? Are candy hearts findable in the same way as the flowers?

Edit to my last post: For anyone who is wondering, you can remove your old virus skin via wardrobe and get a new one when you re-visit the VIP page (at least, my "old" one was one from ages ago). Had a derp moment there!
