Spectrum and Blacklight Legeica!
Note: The darkmatter kerubi has been slightly altered to have darker stripes and an expression to closer match the old one after some user feedback. There are some problems with the cache right now, so if you don't see the black stripes now then check again later.
We've also slightly altered the storm fester to remove some of the cloud from behind its head, and thinned out the lineart on the angelic feli. Just a few touch ups we found the time for! Thanks for your continued support!

I really, really REALLY appreciate the slight changes made to the new darkmatter Kerubi. The tweaks honestly made the difference between changing Trance's species/color after many years and leaving her at is. Thank you for responding so well to constructive criticism that isn't always necessarily asked for or given in the most tactful fashion. The pet art is what makes this site for me, really - and staff artists have so much to be proud of, not only in regards to their own talents, but also their willingness to improve.

make the eyes sidefacing oh please :D it looks much more...crisp? i was also bothered by the wideness look and taking the other eye out so we just get the nose makes a huge difference I think :D other then that omg the colors eeeee so pretty

Spectrum Legeica would go great for my J-Pop idol pet but I do have to agree... those eyes are strange. @beinagrind 's edit improves it for sure.

I tend to agree with everyone saying the eyes weird me out, but otherwise I really love the pose and everything else about these legeica's!
And I agree the Feli and Fester both look better. But for the life of me I see 0 difference in the Kerubi...Like nothing. Maybe I'm crazy?

I actually preferred the "old" fester. The beak looks oddly glowy and like the odd focal point now even though it's just a beak. The other two updates are nice, though.

@Bliss @Sehkmet Lightning was drawn into the area where the cloud was. The "blob" of color is the pink aura around the lightning.

Seeing @beinagrind's edit made me realize why the face looks off to me.

I really like these actually (and the edit to the DM Kerubi and the others -- SO much better!) I also quite like beinagrind's edit with the eye more to the side though. Very subtle, but makes a huge difference imo.

I love all the changes you guys made! The Fester, Feli and Kerubi all look amazing! I especially like the clearer head on the Fester. I'd honestly consider getting the Kerubi now with the darker stripes and more somber expression.

Eeh... I honestly didn't notice the eye issues others mentioned until I read some of the other comments. Personally, I like the 'more equine' edit somebody made, but I also like This version. This is a fictional creature, not a horse. It doesn't have to have the same biology as a real creature.

Second, unrelated to these but dealing with pet colors, I just saw Merana and decided to check her out. I noticed not all my pets were showing up as options. One's already Hydrus, and two are fairly new and don't have the Hydrus option yet, understandable. But one is a Demi and I'm just really surprised that a species that's been around for so long doesn't have a Hydrus form (that's also been around awhile). I'm not planning on changing my Demi, but I am curious if it's in the current plans to make this form.

Ohh man..something went very wrong with the face. I was really looking forward to the spectrum Legeica, and this pose is right along the lines of what I was hoping for. Everything from the neck down is perfection! But that face... It looks like someone pinned those ugly plastic barrettes we wore in the 90s to its face and then punched it in the nose. The forward-facing eyes have been noted. But why is the face so short and wide?? None of the other Legeica colors are like that. The combination of that and the apparent underbite make it not look equine AT ALL.

beinagrind's edit def really helps the legeica feel more like its supposed to. i think its honestly just the eyes that are putting people off so much since its incorrect based on the species/other colors we've seen. however, maybe also lighten the pupil up a little to make it a dark dark blue? the other legeica's pupils are darker colors of their iris, and some like the normal and lilac have fairly dark pupils like the ones above but they're also noticeably still the same color as the iris, just very dark. making the pupil a dark dark blue should keep it on brand with the other legeica's (and even about half of the other blacklight pets cause they have the "darker iris color for pupil thing too") while lightening up the "staring into my soul" impression people have mentioned :P : )
BTW love the edits to the other pets. the festers nice face is now more visible, and the feli looks tooons more soft and angelic than it already did. the kerubi hasn't cached for me, but im sure its awesome too : ) . keep up the good work, and thank you!!

I'm sad. I have had a pet 'bookmarked' for this color/species combo for a long time, and I'm just... not interested.
There isn't really anything objectively wrong (I don't even really notice the eye thing others have mentioned) it just doesn't work for me. I think a little bit might be that the pose is too dynamic/ungrounded (also makes the hair crazy) but that isn't all of it at all. I know I was worried about what the artist change would do but I don't really think that had an effect either. The quality is good. I guess it's just not what I expected, even though I didn't realize I expected anything specific.
Oh well.

I really, really dig the little edits to the other colours mentioned here, they were all super worthwhile imo. The feli looks softer, the fester's face is more pronounced and the kerubi looks sulky and moody (with more pronounced markings). But I'd definitely appreciate a change to the new legecia's face/eyes along the lines of beinagrind's edit.
When this was announced I was putting my thumb over the right side of the new legecia's face to crudely simulate what was basically sorted in that edit :'D Comparing them to the other legecia colours makes it more obvious. I like the art & think the pose/flow is wonderful, but the eyes really do put me off.

I think it's kind of reminiscent of a Chibi Legeica in rainbow colors.
Aside from the eyes and proportions, I think it's very well drawn.

Now I'm confident that it was the eyes that looked a little off to me, after seeing beinagrind's mock edit. It's such a subtle change, but it really does make a difference. One of my initial thoughts was that the legeica's eyes were looking straight into my soul rofl.

not the right post for this really but i love the update on the kerubi so very much! and the other two updates look so nice and clean. ;v; thank you guys for being so generous!! i am even more excited for new pet colors and to swap a few around; and great work with the legeica, though it's probably not one i will pick up (unless i find a name, that is). BUT THE MANES LOOK AMAZING!

The legeicas look great, but its forward facing eyes make it look creepy for an animal that's eyes are naturally side-facing: like beinagrind's edit makes the legeicas look more appealing.

Whoa, those Legecia colours do look pretty stunning! I love the way the hair movement's been done :D I did think something looked 'off' on the face & couldn't work out what, but having seen beinagrind's edit with the eyes, it's definitely the forward-facing eyes which (to me at least) made it look a bit 'off'. The side-facing eyes seem to slim down the face a bit too :)

Cache should finally be sorted! I had to wait for a programmer to manually clear it for me, my old method wasn't working :/ But I see the "new" Kerubi now :D

I agree the eyes look a bit weird, but other than that it's nice! They look so happy and alive and I could picture them moving and their manes flowing around.

I can't see the difference in the Kerubi. It's been hours so the cache should have caught up?

I'm happy we have a spectrum Legeica now! I'm just not a fan of the face. I know they aren't Literally Horses but I think it's the position of the eyes that's weird. I'm also never a fan of extreme foreshortening for whatever reason, but these are all personal things. I'll have fun making overlays with this guy since I don't need one for a character :) horse anatomy is bizarre and I can't even begin to think about drawing it. Lol.

Thank you for implementing feedback! I hate to come with complaints again on a post like this, lmao, but - I love these legeicas, the fur is moving beautifully, the colours and shading is a+, the pose is fluid and nice, but there's one thing that bothers me... the forward facing eyes. Legeicas, afaik, have always had side-facing eyes, like horses and deer? These eyes just look rather off to me

I'm so happy to see the Kerubi fixed, and that some other pets have had small fixes. We don't always need a giant revamp of the art to fix the problems we have and it's great to see that recognized. And the Storm Fester looks fantastic!

It's cute but off-putting and a bit scary. Sadly I won't be getting these, but I look forward to other colors. It's the face bars and fake-horn-spot-thingy -- they look fake/plastic. I think the face is too broad, they look almost stocky.

Honestly these just look bizarre to me. Maybe it's because they've lost the gravitas that the original Legeica has, but... I'm not fond of them. Looking forward to seeing what others can do with them though!

As a legeica lover, I am disappointed in these, but I can't quite put my finger on why. Too hairy? Weird angle? Strange face shape? Idk. At least most people seem to like them.

Whomever the artist for the Legeica is, they deserve a raise. Pls assign them to the Bovyne so that field or harvest comes out just as fab. As a disclaimer, I have no idea who designs that pet, but Bull needs a colour change gdi.
