Survival Extension + Quest Bonuses
Unfortunately earlier today we accidentally cleared (mostly) everyones infections. Our mistake can be your gain, however! We’re going to be extending Survival until 11:59pm on March 8th, so you might be able to squeeze in an extra infection this year! You will need to reinfect, sorry everyone!
We’ve also reset quests for the day. Why does this matter? All quest givers will be giving out candy hearts until 11:59pm on March 1st! Quests also have a higher chance of dropping Morty Cards during this time.

The time limit for biting has been temporarily reduced to help you recover your infections faster.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one having issues with this, didn't see anything in the forums about it so I checked here. Finished a lot of quests before I gave up because I wasn't getting any Morty cards. Love you guys still, but I was looking forward to one more day of grinding them out. :P
I haven't seen any decrease in their price tag but I miss them. It was exciting to get them as I am one of those players that get 1 or 2 a day if lucky.
for anyone else that comes here: i did some poking around the forums and apparently the increased rate was lightly killing the economy so it had to be slowed

I've done at least 60 quests total today, and no Morty Cards. Hm.
And this is opposed to me getting roughly 1 to every 5 quests over the past few days, which seems like the fair standard for the increased rate.

The Morty Cards weren't releasing like they have been for the past two days - weren't they supposed to go until 11:59pm tonight?
Thanks so very much for shortening the bite times. hugs On the NVLB biting board we've managed to reinfect loads of people in a much shorter time than it would have normally taken. :)
It may have taken me 10 minutes to complete a quest, but at least the Morty Cards are still coming :D
Thankfully I only grabbed one skin this year and finished it up pretty early into the event. Unrelated though, i'd love to see the grocery bag item from the first stage of the vegetable skin become an official wearable. Also, THANK YOU for the Morty bonus!
Thank you for all the extras. It's nice that you guys let us get more than one strand anyway during the holidays. To have this extra stuff too is great. I've been enjoying the candy changes this year too. Plus I'm never going to say no to extra morty cards!
The Morty Cards seem to be a little buggy... Got lots of them, but when I gp to my inventory, sometimes I have zero, and sometimes I have the same amount than before, even though the quests said that I got like, 2 in a row
The bright side to this site dilemma, I find it rather amusing that Maleria has to give us candy hearts. She usually gives us attitude and nothing XD

I skimmed the article before running to do the quests. The morty card thing had me going nuts, I was like what.....the fck. Then I realized my reading skills are just subpar lmao. Regardless, thank you so much for that!! I've been dying to change a few pet names and you're saving me some $$$$$

I haven't been on this site for a super long time, but it's so amazing to see how much you guys try to make stuff up to the players on here, even for things that aren't a crazy big deal. It's a huge breath of fresh air from another site I've played on for like 11 years (the owner doesn't seem to care about his players much at all and it's annoying). Sorry on being depressed, I'm glad I got reinfected quick and there wasn't any other solution with how these strains work. >_< Still hard that progress time can't be recovered either even though I know there's no way due to how the strains are coded they can't increase the speed of their progress.
It would be nice to wake up tomarrow and see myself at stage 6 again but I know I have to wait another 4 days to be near finishing Buzz Kill again and I'm having a harder time getting over the "sting" of that. I wish I knew everyone's secret in accepting it so quickly as I normally have my own progression before I can calm down.

Thank you for the reduction in biting time, it preserved what little was left of my sanity trying to keep track of everyone. There has been some great community spirit here today in getting those who needed it reinfected - well done everyone.
I got Buzzkill back but I think I might be done with strains after this, I know there wasn't any other solution but I wish I had a memory wipe device so I could forget that I was saposed to finish tomarrow. Unintended pun but it's going to sting seeing me not at stage 7 or 8 and instead at 2 or 3.

Ohhhhh my gosh I’m sorry to everyone, but there is something so funny about it happening too. And after Amber said earlier it wouldn’t be extended because March 3 was already longer than they wanted survival to be. I admit I laughed out loud a bit.
I was not here today during the problem, but I got the event that my Red infection is over and ready, it's in my wardrobe.
I took the skin off and could take another one one hour ago more or less, so I did and I have Grosseries, it was before this announcement.

I think I manage to keep mine? I save my outfit that always update my ha, and stay. Than being said, its totally sucks for everyone. I hope everyone get their virus soon!
Wow, what an epic disaster. D: I'm so sad for everyone that lost their strains, especially as so many must have been nearly complete. And I guess I'm super glad I stayed up til 2 AM to finish off my strain and start a new one, and that I wasn't even affected. D:

I was stage 6 Buzzkill, which is hard to find bites for and I was lucky to get from the insta strain and in the morning.....I know you guys are trying your hardest but I can't say I'm happy that my 3-4 days even with the extension is for nothing and I still may not benefit from this "boon"

From what I'm reading, some people did not get hit with this glitch. Seems I still have my virus, so all is good. Thanks for the extensions. Goes to do quests.
I don't know if you would want to do this, but would it be possible to shorten the times between stages? I made a suggestion thread the other week after that other problem and people agree that at least the all the viruses except the current year should progress a bit faster, and also it will be a bit less tedious for those of us who are trying to get back the virus we lost progress on. But I guess that's up to you. I just wanted to suggest.

@Luck Yes. A fix for this issue went out a few minutes after we noticed what had gone wrong, so it shouldn't happen again.
To clarify, infections were not being cleared by saving avatars. They were being cleared by the cron that was supposed to be advancing the infections. It may have looked like saving it was clearing them because that causes the cache to clear/update, but it was not actually related.

@Bug The healer still shows me at stage 7 Infection for The Vapors. Will I continue to the stage 8 finish or am supposed to start over. And, the biting forum shows me as still infected. Thank you for any clarification.

Some temporary help for biters would be really, really nice also - maybe shorter wait times, fewer bites required, or some sort of incentive to bite? It's insane over there, I feel so bad for the beautiful people trying to manage everything D:

I can't believe, lol, that with all the CW releases during Survival, people are actually complaining about the morty cards.
I'm a bit concerned about the Morty Cards as well, I've received a total of 29 Morty Cards after doing 105 quests so far. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!
This definitely doesn't jettison my love for this holiday, and DEFINITELY doesn't obviate how much work the team puts into this! Shout out to Bug, who I've come to admire and appreciate all the more this Survival.

I don't think this is anything to do with the virus glitch but I just got a forum box but it says I 'got a !' when I opened it. What did I get lol nothing showed up and now I have no box or gift ?

You know, I'd be mad, but I just did ONLY cursed quests and Nori gave me THREE morty cards, so, ok, she's making it up to me, s'cool...
I avoided the virus purge, thankfully, as my infection reached its final stage looks like just before that went down. I also feel glad I did my quests earlier today, so now I get to do them twice for today and get candy hearts on top of it :D

So, it took 8 days for me to finally be infected through the VIP program and... then it's gone..... I don't quite have the will to try again but I might give it a shot.

Honestly not sure I can trust the cache. Went and re-infected with the instant strain and still saw a grocery bag on a hard refresh, tried it twice more just to see, and every time saw a grocery bag. :/ We're sure there's no other way to jumpstart the cache than restarting the wardrobe, clicking wear, then hard refreshing the av image?
My infection finished, it's in my skins. I'm thankful as I couldn't deal with more anxiety.

If you still have your infection, you got lucky that the glitch did not hit you, and you should still be good to go. For everyone else, unfortunately you will need to be re-infected.
@ everybody still infected, try a hard refresh/clearing your cache but you might be. I'm still able to bite with Grosseries, thankfully, so my infection stuck <3
I’m still showing stage 2 of Lobotomeat, did I not lose my progress? Do I need to be bitten again?
The healer is saying I'm still infected too (fingers crossed because I was/am stage 7 of Grosseries ;w;)

@Princezz I really wish we could, and I tried to think of some way to do it, but it's not possible. If we restored yours, we'd also have to manually restore the infections for hundreds of other users who were affected, and it's just not feasible. We know it sucks a lot and we're sorry :'(

The extension is nice, but I really didn't want to have to go through 5 stages of Fevermore again, are you sure it can't be restored? I'm too committed to it now to just choose something else.
