@Sigilmancy I don't like Don Bugitos either but a whole lot of other people sure do. No accounting for tastes!

uh, even if it's a joke, i hope no one seriously thinks it's alright to kick roosters! kicking an aggressive animal is absolutely not going to teach them "who's boss", nor will it help with any aggression issues :(
anyways, always happy to see more chicken-themed items as a proud chicken dad!

I live in Madison WI with one of the best Saturday Farmers Markets in the Mid-West. My favorite market purchase is jalapeno cheese bread. Love the fall apples as well.

Yeah, you gotta kick them and you gotta be quick. Otherwise they think they're boss.
Our chickens ate everything, I don't remember their eggs being more tasty than other very fresh eggs from chickens only fed meal.

The best thing I ever got at a Farmers market was fresh peaches. I love fresh green beans and tomatoes also.

Why :o Chickens are evil, evil I tell you....ok maybe only the 3 roosters that used to attack me, every bloody time I'd walk across the yard :(

Around here it's called the River Market, but yeah it's pretty neat. There's a place that does cage free eggs and stuff but they're a tad expensive by comparison and we can get them a little cheaper from similar sources elsewhere. I think the bulk spices is my favorite part of the River Market because I can get stuff like saffron and vanilla super cheap.
And you're right, even reading the comments it's clear that fruits and veggies are by far not the only thing a farmer's market offers. Insect based snacks, though? No thank you XD

The SF farmer's market occasionally has amazing venison and lamb :) And some of the best cheese ever.
And then you can go in the ferry building for amazing gluten-free pastry.

@Sigilmancy @Solsticesprite @Cturtle Wow it sounds like you have great farmer's markets!
Hopefully if there is a farmer's market event, many of the things you mentioned -- sausage, meat, cheese, honey -- will not be left out of it even though they are absent from this collection.... Fruits and veggies aren't the only wonderful things you can find at a farmer's market!
The farmer's market is also a great place to find truly free-range eggs, with the rich colour and flavour you get when chickens are allowed to run free and eat bugs, like the omnivores they are :)
Our SF farmers market used to be the only place you could get Don Bugito's insect based snacks, which I was sadly disappointed to find I didn't care for, but they're super popular too!

I like how the bag this month has the same colors as a classic red barn. Nice touch!
Oh man, I didn't realize how many items on my WL came from June collections. Here's hoping I have the right combination of luck and hard work this month!

I love farmer's markets - the theme for this month is GREAT! My farmer's market is right across the street, although there's also a great one on the north side of town at the Ferry Building.
I usually grab some bread and cookies from one of the local bakeries, some DAMN GOOD tomatoes from a tomato farmer, and some meat from another local farm. :)

The local Farmer's Market is a great place for us to get local honey and honey products such as blocks of beeswax while supporting local beekeepers. We also get a lot of fruits and vegetables we can take home; vegetables are great for soups and roasting, fruits are wonderful for homemade preserves. The jalapeno peppers I can get are also just huge and the best thing ever for poppers. Plus there's a local butcher who sells really good meat and is the only place around I've found to get blood sausage, and a stall that sells bulk spices and teas so I can stock up on stuff for tasty food and tea for the winter months. I love everything about a Farmer's Market tbh, they're so good and I think these items really represent one while staying in the theme of Subeta. And like others, I'm hoping if you're asking us about the best things we've gotten from a Farmer's Market means there is one in the works that may be coming out soon/this month because that would be cool ^^

Seems like the only edible item is

Gawd I love farmer's markets. The background looks exactly like our local one because of the trees behind the stall lol. Great items this month!

We have a mini farmer's market in a small town near my house and they have the BEST donuts... they're homemade by some Amish folks and they're fantastic. I can't wait for them to come back this year. They also sell a lot of preservatives in jars, so maybe I'll pick up some of those as well.

We'd get gruyere direct so good, American-style swiss cheese it was not. And occasionally 20 lbs of huge baker steakhouse-sized potatoes for the price of 5 lbs of medium ones. We made SO MANY french fries.
Are the salt and pepper shakers edible? (some greedy eaterpets want to know)

I really like the hair this month, the colors and textures are so fun. But the art for really takes the cake! I wish I could have a big version of it on my wall at home! A jolly alien plantoid farmer selling crops on a sunny June day at the farmers' market... I love it

Ugh, farmer’s markets are the best. We used to get the most amazing bread from one, and another different one we got the best fresh veggies and these cookies that were to die for.

I like the colors on both wigs but wish they were longer so you could see the pretty colors better. Kinda disappointing for June items though. Guess I'll get the hair.

And the thread that lists them all for each month.
