Oh, the new items are so pretty, I especially love the hearts! Hopefully Gunner will be back in business soon, I am looking forward to getting a new strain. <3
Drank a vial yesterday, seems that was the right thing to do. This is just disappointing now. I'm trying to be patient, but it's really hard when this is one of the biggest events subeta has and the community actually participates! Updates would be nice!
Do you think it would be possible to make the strains from previous years available, and then have the new ones later when that's been fixed?

@Avel it's still be looked into! There will be a news post when we either reopen VIP or have a substantial update. I personally had to hand this off to Keith because even triple checking, I have no idea what went wrong. One of my other jobs is having their fundraising gala today, so I'm swamped with that but still around to provide any information I can about the gosh darn infections. Once things get sorted, we'll talk about extensions, etc. :)
@Laurey Agree. Seems like the free option was the only one working, as most of what I've seen with people getting the wrong strain has been with the paid options. I always go for the free option, then ping in the forums for bites. I was able to sign up before VIP was taken down, and have Foot Rash progressing currently.
At the same time, Survival will get extended to make up for the time lost, especially since no one is really getting any of the new strains, which people do have to pay for to get if they want to be one of the first.

Frustrating as this all is, if the staff extends Survival to compensate for the days VIP has been down then I don't think it'll be a huge issue, just another annoyance. Still annoying, though :/
I think it wouldn't be so bad if there was still a way to get the older viruses while trying to figure out why the new ones aren't working. The fact that the page is down completely means that people can't even get an infection from past years while waiting for the new ones to be fixed, so unless you happened to be online before the page was taken down or you have a vial strain that you still needed, you're kind of just out of luck for the moment.
i wish we would just get an update. you guys cannot not know Survival is a community favourite, we’ve been anticipating this for months now, new and old users alike. Biting and being bitten is one of the coolest activities on subeta as a whole, so most of us feel a lil let down right now. Of course I understand that you too would love this to just work. But it doesn‘t. And mistakes, bugs, errors, they do happen. We know that. But would a short message saying "sorry you guys gotta wait but we still have no clue what‘s actually going on so we can’t tell you whether is gonna take another hour of day" would have been really really nice. 🥲

Would have been better if I would have gotten one of the strains I didn't have from last year,lol. Really sad seeing a strain I already have progress.
Oh, regrets. I should have just kept the old strain. It's not like it was one I already had. And way-to-go me being all organised and having already worked through all the vial strains. Why am I like this?
Does anyone know if there's offsite updates in discord about this, or has there really been radio silence for 16 hours?
Can I also point out since it's a separate comment, that the items are really nice this year, the legs and arms are creative esp
@pointycatears I'm sure they will let us know/make another news post when things are operational again, and I'm sure they'll adjust times to make up for the time lost. Give them a minute to figure it out and fix it. In the meantime, as others have pointed out, you can file a ticket for your inconvenience.

Yeah, I would have preferred a later start to make sure everything worked right over what's happening now.
And yes, giving more updates and telling us when you think you might be able to open it again would have helped. I'm still very shy about joining the Discord server in case people there are rude to me, since I'm on quite a few user's block lists here and they might be on there. I set alarms to wake up throughout the night so I could get a strain as soon as I could, but it turned out to be for nothing and now I've gotten less sleep than I could have. If you'd said "we might not have this open until after midnight or tomorrow morning" then I could have gone to sleep without worrying about missing out on too much.
I hope that we do get the instant skin option again like we had last year, even if it's not until the last day.

It's starting to feel like there wasn't much of a point to starting Survival at best, and that this is ultimately going to lessen the experience at worst. IDK, I'm being pessimistic. An update or ETA would certainly dissuade anxiety/speculation. I get that you're all busy though and am hoping this is one of the expected-but-temporary flukes that tends to come with holidays (and Survival in particular it seems, lol).
I kinda thought this would have been fixed hours ago, a little disappointed that we can't get a new skin or an older one right now, unless we use a vial.
Is it ready yet? I thought maybe they were waiting for the pet spotlight so that it didn't push the news post down
I chose the free option, then pinged the group I wanted bites from in the forums, and seem to be infected, which is what the Healer is telling me. I just don't know if I'm progressing with the strain I asked for (Foot Rash), or something else.
I'm kind of sad to see coconut taking over instead of vanilla when I see a food item in white/cream colors. No new items for my pet's tc. Then again, no having to worry about buying the item(s) is quite nice. lol
Just thinking about how one year the theme was fungi, and another year was ocean critters, also bugs and food. Any clues to this year's theme if there is one?
Are we going to have anything to make it up to us like getting to choose a skin to unlock like we did last year, or a free gift or something? I mean, just as an apology for the inconvenience. Not meaning to sound greedy, but it is very inconvenient.

@Namira If you have one of the vials (Bulbous Vial, Creeping Vial, Stinging Vial, Lotus Vial, and Vaguely Sticky Vial), you can get the first stage of any of the 2014 strains without bites. The vial names match up with the ones in the wardrobe. These are only ones that have a way outside of the VIP.
Might be a dumb question, but can we still get infected from being bitten without using the VIP? I have a bunch of old ones I still need to collect.
I am not surprised the VIP had to be temporarily closed, it never works properly on the first day and as such I had no plans to even try for a new 2022 skin until after the first several days. Since I already have plenty of candy hearts from years prior, I'll just go shopping for cute stuff in the L'amour Parlor. Gonna go for an old strain when the VIP opens back up first - as exciting as it is to not know what you'll be getting, those new strains always have problems when starting out.

I have 1340 snowballs in my trades, and 8332 snowballs in my Are You Being Served II shop for 1000 each if you want to buy some more snowballs. I understand if you want to wait to see if the price is adjusted though. I had been buying them and selling them to hopefully make it easier for others to get the achievement.

Could we maybe buy snowballs even without the snowtapult being open. So we can stock up? Unless the price of snowballs/purchase time is being recoded too, in which case ignore me.

Ok, so just to clarify...if we got our strain for free we don't file a ticket for now and it will be dealt with when Gunter apologizes?
I was also lucky enough to get an old one I didn't already have. I'm looking forward to see how it will be dealt with. I'm happy to keep my current one, but would also be okay with getting it wiped out and starting again so everyone starts out evenly.
I got the "Invalid" error from trying to choose Crystalitis/Pointy. That's what I wanted to get first this year.
Just in case it helps, I chose to pay for a random new virus, got a 2021 instead. Good luck fixing it guys!

If I choose not to file a ticket for reimbursement, can I just let the old strain I got in error progress? Or will all current infections be cleared in the process of fixing everything anyway?

I also chose one of the random new strains and got one from last year, Queasea...but I guess that's ok since I didn't have it yet. It wouldn't have been my first choice but I think I'd rather just stick with this than be delayed by a fix. I'm just glad Survival is here and I got something started so I can get to bed almost on time!

I cleared all clothing, saved & wore with HA. Tried registering for "happy", still not working. So it's not an issue with wardrobe or having a skin on.
