It's Five o'clock Somewhere

A rebel with or without a cause, Avaris only makes sure of one thing: to leave hell in his wake. Most of the time he's successful, too. Having been with Veritas since pickpocketing the leader himself and then causing a strain of events that amounted to a stressful day for all about three years ago, this orphan is noted for his stealthy skills and quick hands.

Having a tongue just as fast as his fingers, Avaris easily talks his way in and out of sticky situations and is skilled at extracting information from unsuspecting victims. He is also infamous for his womanizing ways, and smart fathers know to keep their daughters under lock and key when Avaris is in town. This kid can also hold his liquor like nobody's business, frequently going out for drinks with the captain any time of the day while unsuccessfully trying to woo his adopted daughter. Although Avaris loves nothing more than scoring big and bragging about it, he does hold the captain's 'daughter' in special regard. He'll start mumbling something about her being different, then get annoyed and tell you to piss off.

All in all, Avaris is almost as laid back as his commander and is an overall peachy guy. He loves to party hard and crash just as well, but he knows his duty to the cause. On the outside he easily comes off as a skirt chasing idiot with no morals or responsibilities, and that's pretty close to the case. But deep down he knows what really matters and that their goal is closer than ever. Avaris will usually be spotted up and about the town gathering information at local bars (as well as trying to pick up local girls and downing alcoholic beverage after alcoholic beverage) as well as making visits to the shadier districts, including black market trading posts and information specialists like himself. He is Veritas's best eyes and ears, and actually does take his role very seriously. What other job in Subeta consists of hitting up a large number of bars every day? Avaris can't think of one either. This plucky young adult has a penchant for getting into trouble, especially when the Cards are involved. As much as he loves pissing off the average Joe, a guaranteed fight is always so much more fun. He knows from experience that the Ace, Duece, and King aren't very entertaining, and the young Jack is just plain annoying, like the younger brother he never had. But the Queen...she was a whole different story. Only a few years younger than himself, the Queen was an excitable princessy girl that Avaris loved to taunt. Like cats and dogs, people have commented. He knows it's not proper for him to tease her so much, but it's just too much fun! Sometimes it doesn't even feel like they're after each others' lives.
