Shousme Ligorda wields power of cold and water. He can freeze anything, from the moist in the air to the falling rain, and later on he learns how to freeze blood as well. It is a skill granted by a phophecy which said that the first pup born after the polar night would have this magical force. Everyone expected the leader's future cub to earn the power, but Shousme and his sister Shapp came to the world just two days earlier. The pack weren't very welcoming for the siblings, as they weren't even purebreed northern wolves (theit mother came to the Pole from South, and the runes they inherited from her couldn't let others forget about it even for a moment).

Months passed by and Shous was growing up together with his sister Shapp (who didn't have any magic in her, but was very intelligent and had unusual strenght typical to her mother's breed) and Entho, the leader's son, who was a bit rejected by the pack as well- he was blamed for not being born earlier, and was also rather weak. All three were thinking about leaving the polar wolves more and more often...

Apart from small tricks Shousme didn't know how to do much with his power. Its potential was first discovered when his pack leader tried to kill him before he'd get stronger and throw him down, but he nearly got killed himself, when Shousme accidentally moved clouds and crushed a glacier...

That same day Shousme got an officil death sentence, but his sister Shapp, who was very respected in spite of her bloodline and young age, and their father Shektra, one of the best hunters, begged for a lighter punishment. Shous himself didn't care, but instead of being killed, he got exiled. Shapp instantly decided to go with him, and as they were about to depart, Entho trotted up to them.

"You're leaving as well, Shapp?" he asked with a sad voice."I can't stand this place anymore. There's nothing more it can offer me" the fey had a great curiousity and knew most of the elders' secrets already" And I can't stand our pack. A bunch of power-hundry malcontents, especially the leader...""He's my father", Entho reminded."Thank gods you didn't inherit his stupidity", she snarled. There was a moment of silence."I'm sick of this place as well. It's great they exiled me. I wanted to leave anyway, and if I did, they'd hate me as much as they do now. But this way, at least I kicked the leader's ass"- Shousme growled darkly."Accidentally", Shapp added with a smirk."Never mind", her brother muttered. "It's nice you came to say goodbye, Entho, but we have to leave now. Don't change into the same thing the others are"- he practically spit the word 'others' out and slowly started pacing forward. His sister followed."I actually... wanted to go with you"- their friend said a bit nervously."What? Why?"- asked the she-wolf, turning to him with surprise. "You're the leader's son. You've got future.""He'll most likely pick a pup from his next litter as his successor""Are you su-""You can't travel with us. You just won't make it"- Shousme said with a firm voice, interrupting his sister, and added more softly: "You're my friend, the only one. I can't take you with me, it would be a death sentence. Believe me, it's not nice being sentenced to death...""I'd die here as well, someday, after living a pointless life. By going with you I can at least see other colors than white and blue. I've made up my mind already..."

In a split second Shousme spun around and flew at his friend, throwing him to the ground. He put a paw on his forehead and pushed it into the snow."Stop it!"- Shapp yelled and tried to jump at her brother, but found her paws frozen to the ground with ice- "You're mad...""If he can prove himself strong enough to beat me, he can go. No magical power. Just teeth and claws", Shous growled."Then let me stand up. I'll show you what I can do", Entho replied from under him. Shousme nodded, took his front paw from his friend's forehead and put one of his hind legs up to step down from him as well. He felt a strong kick of Entho's rear legs hitting his belly and lost his balance. The leader's son boxed his opponent's jaw with his left front paw, throwing him to the ground, and instantly pushed himself up. He pinned Shousme down and caught the scruff on his neck. With some difficulty, he pulled the runed wolf to his sister."Free her paws", he hissed. "And you choose the winner, Shapp"

Thus began the long journey of the three wolves, Shousme Ligorda, Shapp Ligorda and Entho...
