There is a shady part of the forest that is rarely seen. You can feel the thick and humid air, and if you are still enough, you'll swear you can hear the mushrooms growing underfoot. There are all manner of flora and fauna in this largely undisturbed ground. If you travel just a bit further down by the babbling brook and over that dangerous looking crag, you'll find a most peculiar sight--a bright cottage with a garden and a small pen. Here you will find Charline, the littlest witch you've ever seen. At least she wants to be a witch. Oh but not a bad one to be sure; I am sure most would call her a healer instead of a witch to be perfectly honest. Charline likes to mix her herbs and other plants to help people. The main problem with this is that she is deep in a forest and as a result, does not get a lot of visitors.

Her garden not only provides all the food she needs, but also a fair bit of the ingredients she uses for poultices and potions. Sometimes she ventures to that shady part of the forest for some other things she needs such as the fungus and lichens. She also managed to import some moss closer to home to help keep certain elements cold. Did you know that moss is good for that? Of course, she can only do so much with only plants. She also has a mini-menagerie of animals that help her out. How she manages to keep a cow, two pigs, three billy goats, and six chickens in one pen, living harmoniously, is beyond explanation. Well maybe not beyond...she is a witch after all. She also has a Uillit aptly named Mushroom as he helps her find fungus in crevices and in high trees. He is docile and likes being her "lap dog."

She sometimes will make a trip to a small village when her stores aren't enough or they have something that the forest cannot provide. These trips are few and far between as the journey takes four hours on foot. She gets a lot of random and suspicious looks from the townspeople, but I suppose they don't see many people coming out of the dark forest--especially such a clean and tiny girl. Although she wants to help them, they do not trust strangers. Even the shopkeepers that sell her items will not allow her to look at their sick families. One day she will venture out further than the mushroom grove and the village so that she can branch out in her studies. For now however, she is content to study with her books and talk with her animals.
