Queen Ammara was not born into royalty.
In fact, she was brought up by a family of poor farmers. Her father worked long hours for many moons in order to provide for her and her mother. However, when Ammara reached the age of 16, she started to exhibit strange powers.
Ammara discovered her powers on her family's farm. When the harvest was bad, the tears she cried of grief for her family would soak into the soil and revive the crops that had died amongst the drought. When the livestock would die, she could bring them back to life with just a touch.
This was all very wicked to her town, and they deemed her a witch. When she asked her parents why this was happening, they told her that she was not their real daughter. They banished her from their family, and the people drove her out of their kingdom.
Ammara, after many moons of drifting and traveling alone, settled into the Golden Kingdom of bountiful harvests. They accepted her as a powerful descendant from the gods. Her powers raised her kingdom to be well endowed in wealth and opulence.
Queen Ammara was well off in her kingdom, and life was very beautiful for her and her people.
Until the day that fire overtook the kingdom...

Until the day that fire overtook the kingdom...
Queen Ammara awoke with a jolt in her bed. She had a terrible dream of her kingdom erupting into flames. Her people choked on the smoke around them. Their crops died, their livestock died, and the people were driven to extinction.
Ammara dashed to her balcony to gaze out upon the quiet landscape of the beautiful, golden kingdom. The night was cool and brisk, and it was quiet.
The queen let out a soft breath and leaned against the balcony railing. It was a terrible dream, she thought. But it felt so real to her. The imagery was vivid, and she could still hear the cries of her people in her mind.
Suddenly, there was a knock on her door. She turned, hugging her robe closer to her frame. "You may enter."
The door cracked open, and her son, Prince Rarsi, padded into her room. Strangely, he was not in his nightwear, but Ammara did not think too much about it, as her mind was drifting into the smoke that hung in her mind.
"I'm so sorry to bother you so late, my queen." Prince Rarsi bowed to her.
She nodded to him. "What have you come to say?"
The prince withdrew a scroll from his belt, and handed it to her. "It's urgent, my queen. The people of the Ice Kingdom have requested your assistance."
Queen Ammara unfolded the scroll and read the crude writing.
Queen Ammara,
You are needed urgently in the Ice Kingdom. Our people are suffering a terrible illness, and we require immediate aid from you.
Please, hurry!
King Nikel
Queen Ammara handed the scroll back to the prince, her mind turning over. If she left, she would leave her kingdom unsupervised, but her duty was to people. If the people of the Ice Kingdom were in urgent need of assistance, she would have to go.
"Do not worry," Prince Rarsi bowed once more. "I accept the duty of watching over the Golden Kingdom as you journey to them."
Queen Ammara had no choice. She nodded to her son, and with passion in her heart, prepared to set out for the Ice Kingdom.

At dawn, Queen Ammara gathered her most honorable men to accompany her to the Ice Kingdom. She said very little to them, just that they were in need of assistance, and they had to move quickly.
Ammara packed her most valuable herbs and medicines for her journey. She kept her spellbook by her side as she mounted her horse to prepare to leave.
Prince Rarsi stood at the base of her castle, his hand on his sword, and bowed to her.
"I wish you health on your journey," he said to her. "May the Ice Kingdom be ever so fortunate."
Queen Ammara offered him a quick nod. She glanced around her at the strong men on horseback and took one last look around the landscape of her beloved kingdom. She was certain that her son would take wonderful care of it. Her people meant everything to her, and she had to assume the same about the prince, for she was counting on him to watch over them and maintain the peace and beauty.
"Ya!" She rang out, and they set off.
She had fervor in her blood, but yet, she could not shake the dream she had the night before...
