FIRST DRAFT. The galactic empire persists like a plague but luckily the galaxy is a large place. The rebellion was all but wiped out. The jedi were called traitors and destroyed. Imperials came and went, pirates disguised as law. But life went on and people did the best they could.

Ashel was born in a small system on a planet that was mostly peaceful and used for farming. When he was a teenager he realized he was different from others. He could think a thing and the air would feel electric and heavy. If he pushed at it, the thing would move. He knew of witches that had mysterious powers and did spells. He had also heard stories of the jedi, they had powers as well. Both were not seen kindly and jedi were not seen at all anymore. He was very careful and kept it to himself.

He lived in a rainy farming valley all by himself, his strength, fast reflexes and good luck had done him well. His days were simple but fulfilling, farm chores, riding his speeder, a drink at the local bar. He used his abilities to help with the farm and sometimes when he was alone in the fields he would create a small cloud of lightning just for fun. When he wasn't farming, he was doing everything he could for the resistance. And if troops ever showed up in the village they paid him no mind, he was just one rural farmer among many. And if he was ever questioned he knew they would always believe his answers. He didn't know what he was exactly, a witch, a jedi, some kind of hybrid? But he knew that the jedi had been a force for good in the world. He didn't believe what the empire said about them, he knew better than to believe anything they said. If he had the power to help, then he should. Just in case he had a small craft and maps to a nearby planet where he could start over if needed. He was safe and he meant to stay that way.
