That day had been great, found a new trashcan to rummage in and everything. What more could a dog want? Then the strange humans abducted me, experimented on me, and put me in a cage. I decided I would stay strong and find a way out.
The strange humans took me from the cage with the other dogs and put me in a big one with other humans. All it took was some tail wags, and a few cuddles to con them. Really climbing over one of the new humans like a jungle gym was just a perk. They became my minions quickly but they weren’t very good at the job since they left so soon despite my best “love me” looks. I didn’t expect to see my disobedient minions again but they showed up again and took me to a new place.
No cages. Good food. Blankets and pillows. Bellyrubs. SCORE! As soon as the drugs the cage-humans gave me wore off I was free to explore. Though I still object to the cone of shame.
They left out all kinds of fun things for me to find. How sweet of them! Maybe they can be good minions after all. I mean, they did give me the scavenger hunt of new trashcans (even without lids!) to find, and the shoes. They had my favorite kinds to chew. Plus there was lots of grass to play in and did I mention the bellyrubs?
That first day I was feeling good my minions shook their heads muttering something about “earning the name Abby Normal” and I learned that I was “Abby” now. Well I guess that’s ok. I’m sure with time I can train my minions to serve me properly in the house I now rule. At least I think after a few shoes, they will buy me a proper chew-toy.
