Morgana, assumed daughter of Gorlois was the illegitimate daughter and ward of Uther Pendragon, daughter of Vivienne, paternal half-sister of Arthur, and maternal half-sister of Morgause. She was a seer and later the last high priestess of the Old Religion.
Originally a very kind-hearted individual, Morgana became evil after being corrupted by Morgause and being betrayed by her former-friend Merlin who poisoned her to break a deadly enchantment over Camelot. She was the source of the spell and had to be destroyed to break it.
She subsequently turned against her family and friends, even helping to cause the death of her own father Uther; she was ruthlessly determined to take over Camelot and allowed nothing to stand in her way.
Morgana formed a bond with Mordred, whom Kilgharrah had foreseen would kill Arthur. She also formed a close bond with the young dragon, Aithusa, who saved her life after she was almost killed by (unbeknownst to her) Merlin's powerful attack.
It was prophesied to Morgana that she would meet her end at Emrys' hands and despite her many attempts to change her fate, track him down, and kill him before he could kill her, she failed. Soon after the Battle of Camlann and Mordred's death, Morgana was killed by her nemesis Emrys (who she learned from Mordred was Merlin all along) with the Excalibur.
His last words to her were quote, "The time for all this bloodshed is over. I blame myself for what you've become, but this has to end."
