before Aran became all paranoid he was really a wild child/rebel hence the piercings and tattoos (which he'd NEVER get more of now), he got into the job because it was all dangerous, probably an assignment gone bad and his partner gets killed, when he first started i could see him being all young, brash, cocky and reckless and his partner pays the price, why he protests a lot to being brought along on the actual assignment because hes afraid hes going to screw up again, never told anyone what happened (notes for myself xD)
