A deity emerged one forlorn winter midnight hour during the darkest phase of the moon. She was a beautiful winged equine, small, velvet black, and drifts of silvery light floated about her obsidian horn like stars in the night sky. Her blood ran hot like quicksilver, but her heart was as cold as the dark moon she was birthed from and as distant as the vast void of space. Centuries pass and she ignores the world for the most part, content to be left alone on the moon. Until she is caught.

Beyond all belief, a high sorcerer, Merlin, captures her. It's only for a few moments, but it's enough. Kibeth escapes and vanishes like smoke, using all of her godly powers to manifest out of that current universal plane and get somewhere unreachable. She would never let it happen again she vowed and so she waited, quietly, but no one came after her and she moved cautiously on. It wasn't until years later that Kibeth would suddenly stop and not be able to catch her breath for a moment. When she would come to her knees as she searched inside herself because suddenly she felt an ache where she had always been numb before. It alarmed her and she immediately began a desperate search to find out what it was.

From Kibeth,
Clov
was created. And in doing so Merlin inadvertently gave the great Kibeth her heart. It was an unfortunate and unforeseen consequence. The powerful creation named Clov, after the constellation Clover, was also an alicorn but he was snow white, large, strong, steady, and powerful. He's a fiery burning star, where she is the void. He can heal wounds and sickness and purify water with his horn. He was created to protect and serve Merlin and her people.

Another side effect of creating Clov from Kibeth was that it seemed they could sense one another through time and space. At first he didn't know what it was, but Merlin guessed, and so she hid the reason from him and tried to remove it before he could discover it for himself. Clov, though loyal, would not be left in the dark forever. One night he used his powers, unsanctioned, and he found himself meeting Kibeth face to face upon the dry shifting sands of the half-full moon. She is instantly drawn to him like a moth to a flame. She is his beginning and he would protect her until his end. She is strongest during the dark moon and he is strongest during the full moon. They are forever entwined.

But, unlike his creator, Clov is not entirely immortal. Merlin repaired him countless times, reforming him, and spelling him to stay young and strong. He was made to forever guard and protect Prash. Merlin was young and rash back when she made him and knew that Kibeth was dangerous but she hadn't known how much. The dark steads powers were almost limitless, made of death and cold. The only thing alive she would even respond to was Clov. She would follow Clov, do anything he asked of her, and Clov followed Merlin... but Merlin was wise enough to fathom the risk involved and wonder how long it would last. She was a formidable weapon but that didn't make Merlin feel better, she was unfettered and dangerous, tied to them only through Clov.

It seemed that the problem was taken out of her hands however, as Merlin vanished mysteriously, without a trace. Despite the ensuing chaos left by the void of the 400 year reign of the High Sorcerer it was still a few more centuries before Clov's body couldn't take anymore. Without Merlin to care for him, his body gave out. Kibeth was beyond reproach, driven to insanity. She goes on a rampage through the sorcerers citadel searching for his soul, she can feel that he is still alive somehow, somewhere. In one sweeping veil of the void's power she burns outwards with the pale darkness of deathly space, freezing and suffocating everything and everyone in the deadly sphere emanating from her, the power growing stronger, cold spreading outwards, she is unstoppable. She could have destroyed the world but she only destroyed most of the citadel instead. And it wasn't even on purpose, she'd only been building up enough power to transport herself out of the world. One of the most destructive forces to ever beset the sorcerers and she almost destroyed them without noticing, without a thought. No one was there to see but she was swallowed into a vast, smokey, churning storm that crackled out of existence once she was through. She will search until the end of time for him.

Centuries pass, they are all but myths to the world, until a desperate quest is launched to reanimate the ancient cloven protector to help save the world from certain destruction. The adventurers don't know about Kibeth though. But in finding one you will inevitably find the other. She has ended up wandering through the cracked and dry desert of death, lost in grief, obsessed with finding him. She is haunted, searching the underworld for the other part of her soul.

She was always his greatest weakness... Maybe that was one of the reasons his bones were left to rot in the desert sun. After all, why did the greatest wizard of all time let her strongest creation die? She might have done it to protect them from destroying themselves, guessing how dangerous his partner was. On the other hand... It is strange indeed that there was a copy of Clov's blueprints on the cloud drive .. Apparently they'd been there the entire time, his essence existing in an unreachable state of being...
