Personality

Skorgie is relatively easy to get along with, unless you are his poker opponent! He takes every little piece of gambling he does really seriously, whether it be as small as scratching off the panels of a scratchcard of concentrating hard in poker. He enjoys varied forms of gambling such as playing the Slots, Dark Matter Dice and Card Crusade, though his specialities are the more traditional poker and craps. Skorgie is mostly nice, but he is a very bitter loser. Luckily, he doesn't lose that often so he is usually in a fairly good mood. Skorgie has trouble maintaining relationships as he is known to put his gambling first, but his heart does ache for someone to love...

Background

Skorgie was born into a small farming family that lived on the outskirts of Veta Lake. He was raised to be a farmhand but from a young age it was noticed that he had great skill in all sorts of games from backgammon to solitaire. His father intended Skorgie to take his place running the farm when he retired, but Skorgie had other ideas. He was entranced by the bright lights of Centropolis and when the opportunity finally arose to escape there with some friends Skorgie grabbed it with both hands. Once there he quickly immersed himself in the world of gambling and even as an unknown amateur he quickly advanced on to the professional circuit. His speedy rise was unprecedented but Skorgie was so absorbed in winning that soon his friends drifted away, returning to the country, while Skorgie found himself alone in a place where the only thing he knew was how to gamble. Despite his new-found lonliness 'The Gambler, as he soon became known, continued winning and continued rising through the ranks until he found himself on the top tier for poker.
