Tixe is an ancient Paralix within his community, and he was once a well-respected professor in the sciences. Though he was eccentric and devoted then, it stopped no one from praising his accolades. Students gave him apples, fellows gave him respect. His retirement was even wept upon by a few.
But, the ever-creeping predator that is age is stalking the old Paralix.
Tixe has holed himself up in his den, refusing any visitors and spending all his time with his muzzle in old naturalism books. And when he isn't doing that, he's taking specimens. Fish, amphibians, invertebrates...anything that he can get his claws on ends up in a jar of formaldehyde in storage room, reduced to nothing more then a number.
Why all this fuss? Well, Tixe is certain the apocalypse is coming, and that he is destined to salvage the world with his "studies".
What, I bet you have a weird hobby as well.
