Help me become Angelic? :3

[Ri-tree-ver] - One of any of several breeds of dogs having a coarse, thick, oily coat, trained to retrieve game.
His protective personality, fearless soul and charismatic gestures come in handy when providing for his family. Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, a small town with a country feel, Nick is a athletic senior who has a deep passion for baseball. He spends most of his free time playing with his 2 best friends, Mike and Chris who also enjoy baseball. Thier ultimate dream is for all three of them to become famous baseball stars and to be offered to join the New York Mets. Although his mother's cancer has held him captive, leaving him and his father to support her, as well as his two young twin sisters, Samantha and Megan, he tries to squeeze as much time in for baseball as possible. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, about 5 months after giving birth to his sisters. Because of her critical condition, she no longer provides an income and stays home recovering, leaving Nick to get a job to try to provide for his family as much as he can. He hopes his having to provide for his family won't intervene with his absolute dream of becoming a professional one day, but him working part time at his father's car wash for minimum wage makes it difficult.

"Son--Son---NICK! We're going to be late, the shop opens in 15 minutes and you have yet to wipe the crust from your eyes."
"ehh, dad. Can't you open up without me? Just this once? I was up practicing late for Friday's big game with Mike and Chris."
"Sorry son, but today is Saturday, you know how hectic our Saturdays are. I really need your help."
"Oh right I know Mr. and Mrs. Robinson are probably banging on the door as we speak! geez."
"Don't use that fucking tone with me, I'll put you in your place right now if you don't get your ass up. This whole baseball nonsense is ridiculous and crazy. You have to start thinking realistically, son. Right now you should be concerned about making as much money as your mother made."
"I'm 18 years old, Dad. School and baseball are really important to me. I don't see any of my other friends having to provide for their families."
"Your friends don't understand the situation you're in and the circumstances you have to undergo. You act like I planned this shit. I know your mother's cancer was a disadvantage to the family, but we love her and we will be there for her during her time of need."
"I know. I know. Gah. I just wish I could have time to do what makes me happy and what I need, you know?"
"I know. I'm sorry son, hopefully this'll only be temporarily until your mother can fully recover."
"What if she doesn't? What if..."
"Just shut your damn trap. She will recover, I know she will. You have a very strong mother. She wouldn't leave us, she wouldn't allow it."
"Let's hope so. I love mom. I don't want her to feel like she's inconveniencing this entire family. I'll do what I have to do to support this family, which is why I want to become a baseball star. We'll be rich!"
"We don't have time for these silly little insufficient dreams of yours. You're not gonna become a damn super star overnight."
"But I will eventually. I believe in myself. Why can't you understand that this is important to me?"
"Why can't you understand that it's your suffering family that should be your first priority and not these unrealistic dreams?!?!"
"It isn't unrealistic! I've been practicing in all my free time and I think I am really really good. My coach says so too. This game on Friday can really impact my life. There's a guy who flew here just to see our baseball team play on Friday. He says that he's strongly considering offering me a full scholarship for college. This means a lot to me..."
"-sigh- I see. I wouldn't want you to blow your chance at succeeding in life just because your ol' man wants you to waste your time at his mediocre car wash."
"You're shop isn't mediocre..."
"Sure it is. We aren't making a damn dime in that shithole anyway. We're going through a depression, who the hell would want to spend money on a damn car wash anyways? Most people aren't even driving their cars."
"-Chuckle- don't be so hard on yourself. Just because we're going through a depression doesn't mean people's cars don't deserve to be clean :)"
"-Snicker- Guess not."
"Look, I'll work today and tomorrow, but for rest of the week I really really need to concentrate on charming the pants off of my coach on Friday."
"I understand. Don't think of this as a little vacation, I want you to bust your ass in Friday's game, make me proud alright?"
"Ha. Alright dad. Hey, if it isn't too much trouble would you mind coming to cheer me on? I could really use the support."
"No problem son."
"Thanks. I appreciate it."
"-Smirk- Yeah yeah. Now hurry your ass up, we're gonna be late! :)"

Hopefully he can pull together and learn to cope with the acceptance of his mother's disease and having to support his family and still have time to be an average 18 year old boy and strive for his dream as a professional baseball star.

Story inspired by Karen Hesse's, "Out of the Dust", one of my favorite books introduced to me in the 8th grade.
