I’ve become impossible
Holding on to when
When everything seemed to matter more
The two of us
All used and beaten up
Watching fate as it flows down the path we have chose

You and me
We’re in this together now
None of them can stop us now

We will make it through somehow
You and me
If the world should break in two
Until the very end of me
Until the very end of you

The farther I fall I’m beside you
As lost as I get I will find you

The deeper the wound I’m with you
For ever and ever I am a part of
...

Even after everything
You’re the king and I’m the queen
Nothing else means anything

-Were in this Together
(By Nine Inch Nails. Lyrics slightly changed.) -

-Drifting bits of sand flow lonely across the sea of sand that lays before your feet, whispering secret tales unheard. The moon high in the blackened sky above you, its full shimmering form shining light down upon your unseen path. Trudging across the land, a soft feeling slowly begins to pass over you- like a bit of warmth upon a lone winter night. A soft howl echoes above the sands before you, and in the distance, two shimmering forms find their way, side by side. Growing closer you slowly begin to see, the two wolves of long ago tales.-

Hello there, dear friend. -The smaller Wolf of the two speaks as her steps slowly stop before you, her calm voice laden with a tinge of shy terror yet wisdom, power, and hope. Her form gleams and dances upon the sands, telling her of her clear death, along with that of the wolf standing beside her, his head held tall, eyes watching closely with a soft glow of warmth.

"The moon is full and bright, we are lucky to have such a night to welcome us. Please, let us enjoy it and speak, we have quite a tale to tell."

This is a story of two Wolves, and a nation of warriors. Our story, our life, our battle.

Once long ago a poor wolf was born into the life of a slave, never given a single chance at living the life of a free being. She was left alone to battle through the life of a slave, her parents thrown to their deaths in the heated sands of the desert they once called their home by the one she was forced to call Master. Every day she woke to new tortures, new ways to wish the days would end sooner.

Then one night, the wolf began to have dreams. She had always dreamed through the dreams of others, but this time was different. She began to dream of a Brave Warrior. There he would speak to her though as if she were not a slave but an actual wolf. Every night they would meet in their dreams, growing closer and closer. Finally she told this Warrior who she really was, a mere slave. At learning this, he set of to try and find her, promising to save her. He ran the desert searching for her, his paws bleeding as the sand bit at them, searching the lands for the wolf that welcomed his dreams into her heart.

Yet, alas, when the brave Warrior found the one he had fallen for in love and in hope, only more Tragedy would befall the two. The cruel Master of the wolf, Anima was there to meet him. The Warrior tried everything within his power to buy her freedom. He offered everything he had, his lands and gold- but Anima loved to see them both squirm with the pain of being apart- and denied every offer he made. Until he offered the one thing she could not refuse- his own freedom for that of Tai's. With this deal, they both would still be apart, and Anima would still have her satisfaction of their pain- and a new strong slave. So the Warrior stood tall, and gave his life to slavedom and watched his love walk away free.

Before they parted, they were allowed one hour alone, finally truly together, they vowed to be partners for the rest of their lives, and beyond, no matter what lay in their fates.
The Warrior told Tai to go to his home and live her life in his place, as Anima told them both that if they were ever to see each other again she would kill one of them. So Tai left, and for the first time she walked the desert, unsure what to do. Her belly grew, and though her mind and heart knew her place was with the Warrior no matter what- she carried on towards her new home for the one bit of real hope she still had- the pups she knew she would have soon. One night, deep in the desert she had small twin pups blessed by the moon and fates of their loving parents. She loved them, and named them both Neferjar and Mesherew- her heart glowing with pride. But she began to have nightmares of the Warrior and his tortured life, and she knew she had to return and save her soul mate.

With the night, Tai gave the pups to the one wolf the Warrior has said she could trust, and fled. Forgetting the warnings of her Former Master, she was ready to risk everything in an attempt to save the one she loved, the one she would not allow to live the life of slavedom meant only for her.

When she finally reached the lands that held her once home, her jail, the feelings of fear and horror almost overwhelmed her. Her fur stood on end, but her heart held solid as it beat to the rhythm she had to follow. She knew the area like no other, having grown up in these very rat infested enclosures. She snaked through the gates, her breath slow and steady. Soon, she could feel the itch in her paws, the reminder that she was getting close to the slave's quarters.

But as she drew near, as she could hear the soft sounds of the Warrior's breathing, she was spotted. A guard tackled her from behind, pinning her even before she could catch her breath. Her mind raced, she could not bare to get so close and not even see her love. But, as soon as the guard had her down, he let her up, and spoke quickly. He explained that he had been placed there to try and help these two when he heard news of their story. He told her how he had tried to lighten the torture for the Warrior, how he had sneaked small bits of food to him, and gave him bits of news of Tai when he could. He turned and let her see the Warrior, weakened, but still the same noble wolf. As the Warrior woke, he shook his head, thinking he was merely still dreaming of the Love he had lost. Until, Tai stepped forward and buried her head in his fur, taking in everything of him she could in one breath.

The two fled, the Guard covering their tracks as the ran toward the cover of the Desert night. Tai felt like finally the world was beautiful, the blood rushing through her veins, forcing the happiness and excitement through her- powering her muscles as they pumped away, trying to get as far away from the horrid cages as possible. She could feel the hot desert air in her fur, and the heavy feeling of the wolf beside her as he bound away at the sands, his eyes catching her every now and then to fill her with even more hope. They would be free! They would be together, and live a real life! A life of a real being. They were meant for this, this is what she was born for. To love, and be free.

But it was not to be. A loud noise sounded behind her, snapping her out of the trance of the desert. She chanced a look back, and her heart caught in her throat. Only a few miles behind their tails she saw them- Anima and her elite guards riding her prized Chariots. She could hear the foul words spewing from her master's mouth, and already she could feel the sting of the whip on her fur. They ran, ran like never before. Their muscles screamed, their paws bled as the sand tore at them, but they would not stop.A whistle broke through the noise, and without any other warning, the Warrior stumbled quickly and fell, rolling to a stop before bursting back up.
Arrows.
It stuck out of his shoulder with an evil grimace. He did not stop longer then that, though. He ran, roaring at Tai to keep moving. She ran, tears pouring from her eyes as her heart cried for what she knew was soon to come.

They lay in the sand, their bodies littered with the Arrows that had forced them down. The had crawled over to Tai, his body holding just enough to stand over hers, shuddering as he tried to keep his stance.
Anima's laugh filled the sands, her veins filled with the love of this torture, of the run and pain she could inflict on these helpless pitiful creatures. Oh the fun she could have with them, the pain. She watched the Warrior try and fight them off as the Guards tore the two apart. She smiled till every last tooth of hers showed, her body tingled as she knew what she was going to do now. A tomb lay near by, she knew. The dragged the two, letting them wait in wonder and pain- until they reached the tomb's door. There, Anima shook her head at them both-

"You ugly little mutt, how dare you. The life of a Princess was to be yours, and you threw it all away."

The Warrior fought and fought as she spoke, explaining her love for their pain, and how she would have them pay. Tai froze, her eyes locked on those of her love. Anima, picked her up, pulling hard on an arrow that stuck from her side, and with little effort- threw her in the tomb and ordered the door to be closed. With this, she would keep her strong slave, and still have their pain- the pain of Tai's death.

The Warrior watched- his love was slowly disappearing forever behind the rock door. Tai cried, thinking her love would forever be tortured, all because of her and her silly little dreams. And then, suddenly, a flash as the last bit of light flickered into the tomb- and then her Warrior was there at her side! He had left his last bit of strength for that moment, and broken free just in time to jump into the tomb as the door closed, sealing them together forever.

They curled up together, letting their last breaths be the most important of all their lives. The air slipping away, they spoke of their un-dieing love, and Tai told the Warrior about their legacy on the world. Of their pups, the only way the world would know their love had been true. And together, they died in that dark tomb- sealed forever in their love.

This Warrior, was known as Wepawet, and died with his love Taimoset.

This is not the end of Tai's tale though, a body is merely a vessel for the soul, a soul is eternal.

In the Duat, the two Wolves stood tall, side by side, proud and sure their lives had been lived rightfully. Judged by 42 Judges of the Ma'at, their hearts were weighed against the 'Feather of Ma'at'. They both were allowed entrance into the Yaaru, the Egyptian heaven, but before allowed in, Isis stepped forward and spoke.

They were set forward a choice, life in the Yaaru together in peace and happiness as they had so longed for and deserved. There, they could be together till the end of time and being, finally happy. Or to become servants, warriors to the gods, and win back life in the world of the living.

The two Wolves accepted without any hesitation. The gods had given them their trust and hope, there was no turning down something such as that.
Isis, smiling as she looked down upon the wolves, plucked a feather from her being. With a wisp of grace gave it unto Tai to carry and protect, knowing quite well Wepi, the Warrior, would fall before he let anything befall his love. This token showed their power and the trust the gods had placed upon them, and the mission they were to fulfill. It also held great powers, a tiny fraction of Isis' power to return life to those long dead. The token's powers was not for the Wolves though. It was to be taken to the many gods of other realms, the first steps in their sacred quest.

With each new Realm visited, a pack was to be formed. Each realm giving life to one warrior chosen by the gods of that realm. The warriors all return to life, to await their greater mission- A mission that even Tai and Wepi did not yet know of. Once their quest through the realms was finally to be completed, the two Wolves would be given the gift of life- and would join the sides of the warriors they had awakened.

-THE ETERNAL WARRIORS-

Realm: Valhalla
Warrior: Iron Can't Bite

The Wolves first Realm was across the Bifrost (Rainbow Bridge) into the land of Valhalla. Valhalla is a land very unlike that in which they had once lived. It was a land of ice and snow, the land dark and cold. The cold seemed to reach to their very hearts, and the two went on to discover that their journeys through the realms would not be as easy as they had wished it to be. Odin would not give life to the warrior that they sought there, unless they had earned the wishes of Fenris. Fenris, the wolf God who had escaped into Ysgaard, the frozen forest.

The cold lands were harsh upon those who had traveled the lands of the Deserts, and never before seen ice fall from the sky. But together they made it through the many challenges they faced to get to Fenris. The mighty Wolf God had no pity on them for being wolves, it only made his anger fuller. But the two stood and faced his test with might, and succeeded.
The Nordic Warrior known as Iron Can't Bite, was given their wishes. Breath slowly flowed through his lungs, his heart beating once again, and now waits for the return of the two who fought so hard to bring him the life he had once lost.

Realm:Ancestral Afterlife
Warrior:Bukekayo

The Wolves were tired, and they ached for rest and warmth. As they thought of rest, pressed against one another for comfort- Tai's feather began to glow. Their eyes glittered with the light, and they knew they must keep on. The stood once again, and found the way to the next Realm. This was the Realm of the Ancestral Afterlife, to search for an African Warrior. They brought the Feather to Inkosi Yezulu, but this Journey was not to be easy either. The warrior they seeked was an Orisha, an ancestor spirit. Her death had been entwined with that of an evil man-eating lion who too had become an Orisha in death. The two fought, through death and into the afterlife, into a point of never ending eternal battle, a curse they found themselves unable to break.

So they returned to the Duat, seeking the answer to their dilemma in Isis, yet there was none to be found. But in hope Isis kissed the wolves upon the ears, smiled, and told them worry not, for the next warrior would be vital to their mission for the African warrior.

Realm:Yaaru
Warrior:Jahy

As a gift for their courage and help, the kind goddess Isis had long planned on giving life back to Wepi's brother, Jahy. Yet, first Jahy had to travel to the land where Bukekayo struggled in her eternal battle, and free her from her never ending fight. As the two Wolves traveled back to the Duat, he made his way into her realm in secret.

For unknown reasons, the two Wolves could not free the Warrior of her eternal battle, but something in Jahy's soul calmed the Lion- though as if he merely wished it. And when the Lion Orisha began to fade away into a cloud of blackened smoke, the two Warriors Jahy and Bukekayo breathed once again.
The two travel together across Africa, searching for Bukekayo's lost tribe while they wait for the return of the two who could not help them, but brought them the life they needed.

Realm:Nirvana
Warrior:SimKhara

The two Wolves watched their last two warriors breath back into life, they headed off to their next realm- the realm of Nirvana. Stepping into Nirvana is almost impossible, for Nirvana is a place of extinction, a place of nothingness, no cravings of food or of life or even that of love. The two barely noticed it a first, and shook it off as they made their way into the God Realm, taking Isis' gift unto a Dakinis.

Their travels were still not to be easy they quickly learned, for the Spirit of the Warrior had not yet reached Nirvana. She lay stuck in the lands of Pretans- beings with a huge stomach and a pin hole for a mouth, and thus are unable to consume enough to satisfy their hunger or cravings. To gain life for the Warrior, the Wolves had to free the Warrior, or it to would fall pray to cravings and desires. The Wolves struggled, and fought hard side by side, flying through many obstacles that stood between them and the life of the Warrior. The pretans were unlike anything the two desert warriors had ever seen, and as they began to fight- they realized they own souls were growing holes. Their love grew into need, their thoughts poured out and more need came- and the holes grew. Here, the fight was not only the Pretans, but themselves. They fought hard at first, their love becoming an overwhelming need. Tai could not hold on, the thought of her pups flooded her every need over and over. The love of a mother was killing her, and she was going to let it. But then, there was silence, the beautiful silence of her dreams. She remembered her life, and the wonderful trick she had learned there as a slave, when life was to hard to bear. The art of forgetting, the art of not being. She calmed her soul, and became- nothing. Just a breath. And she spoke, telling Wepi of her ways, and together- they became nothing. No need, no want, just a breath. And together, the three wolves found Nirvana.

Returning to the God realm, warrior at side, the Warrior SimKhara was rewarded with the breath of life. She returned to her lands in Tibet to await the ones who fought along side her. Her people long gone, but hope and strength running fresh in her blood- and the art of peace always at her side.

-The Shamaness-

Upon their travel to the Ancestral Afterlife, Tai learned of more then a warrior trapped in an eternal battle. She learned of a of a shamaness upon the world of the living- of a sister she never knew she had. Inkosi Yezulu had taken her aside for a short moment before sending them off to save the warrior- and told her of the spirit, a soul who had been bound to the Shamaness through their powers, and lived in both the living world- and that of the dead.

Inkosi Yezulu, seeing that Isis had granted Wepi the life of his brother, thought it only fair to help Tai contact the life of her sister. She bestowed upon her the power to speak the Sacred language of the spirit. Before she could speak to the spirit, the Wolves were forced to leave to search for the answer to save the Warrior Bukekayo, yet Tai could feel the energy of the spirit named Satinka.

After the freeing of SimKhara, Tai began to use her powers of dream. And she soon learned there was only one dream she could visit. The dream of the Spirit Satinka and her bonded Shamaness, Kachina.
The Shamaness stood in the fog of the dream, staring blankly upon the figure of the stranger that felt oh so familiar, yet strange- and soon came to a realization. "So you must be my sister the Spirits whispered on of. I was waiting for you to come to me, dear sibling."
Tai told the Shamaness of her story, though she seemed to already know much of it through the tales of the spirits in which she was able to call forth and ask questions upon. And it was then that the Shamaness too devoted herself to help the Warriors and her new found sister to victory, becoming a medium between the living and that of the dead.

Many now tell tales of the two Wolves returning to the sands that were once their homes between their travels of the realms- saving those in need, lost or fallen in battle, and vanishing just as they had appeared. Some even say to this day you can see them watching over their children in the distance in the light of the shimmering full moon. And if you are lucky enough you may even hear the tales of their travels from themselves.

-The two wolves look at each other, their forms slowly beginning to fade as the sun peaks its golden form out from the horizon, with looks of sorrow but bravery solid upon their blackened faces-

Thank you for listening to our Story, the story of our lives, and that of our afterlife. We live now, happily together, fighting side by side for the gods that so gracefully gave us this task. But we must take our leave, we are called back to the Duat and we must not stop our travels just yet.

Taimoset and Wepi, the two ghosten warriors stand, and turn, running off into the light of the fallen moon, their tracks unseen and unfallen, but their words well heard.
