Subject-B10 clinked its paws against the floor as the lights in the bronze-lit room flickered on and off.

Its eyes blared blue and seemed to acknowledge the professor's face.

"Absolutely wonderful! It seems the artificial intelligence within it is functioning as planned!" He reached his hand out to grab Subject-B10's hand to lead it into the next room for diagnostic analysis.

Clinky-clink. Clinky-clink. They made their way down the dark corridor. Clinky-clink.

Around a corner they turned to step into another room. This room was white and was well lit. In the center of the room was a capsule-shaped container hooked to a 5ft by 10 ft computer screen.

"Here we go." And Subject-B10 was guided into the chamber.

The capsule was sealed shut, and Subject-B10 stood straight up with its eyes beaming blue.

The professor stepped in front of the computer screen and tinkered with some levers and adjustment knobs. Eventually a cold gas filled the capsule and shrouded Subject-B10 in a haze. Then, the professor flicked a switch and the capsule shook steadily. The computer screen showed bars and levels bobbing up and down with fluctuations. After a few seconds the screen's levels and bars were flashing wildly in chaotic madness.

Something was wrong.

The lights in the room went off. Backup generator lights struggled open and dimly lit the room. The professor tried to press buttons and move levers to shut down the system when suddenly a sharp pain entered his stomach. Blood dribbled down his lab coat and pooled at his feet. He touched his stomach and lifted his fingers to his face. And then the world went black in his eyes. He fell to the ground and the computer crashed. Smoke fumed from the system and choked the room.

All you could see was a pair of bright, red eyes flashing.
