when you wish upon...

note: I gave her a mouth. lol. please just deal.

Is it too much to ask for the ability to fly?

To feel the wind rush through your being, to watch in wonder as objects becomes specs from below. To feel your wings flap by your sides, the softness of each feather soothing your every limb. The adrenaline rush to your heart upon each dip to the ground, the heart beat thudding in your chest; threatening to burst from excitement.
Is it too much to ask for just one wish?
Or can it be like taking candy from a dish?
Could you get everything you desire, or would that be too much to ask?
Oh the fascination is beyond me, I wonder how it could be.
Could I be free?

She looked up at the sound of steps in the distance, a sigh emitting from her as she adjusted to her paws. A shiver of anticipation floundered about her, as she snatched the notepad between her teeth. Could today be the day?
The dandelion seeds brushed past her face as they spiraled about the sky. She couldn’t help but look at them enviously, at the fact that a mere plant could do something she’d most likely never be able to achieve.
“Gingi! Jin-jeeee!”
The sound made her start, as she tipped her head in thought. Aileron, of course. It seemed like his only purpose was to tease her with his beautiful wings; all mighty and glory as it could be possible. Naturally, he thought quite the opposite. He hated them beyond thought; especially being that with every flap a rainbow appeared; which was quite against him when he was trying to play tough. That was generally 24/7; and with his tough act came the boring after affect. It just made him an irritating ball of feathers; and the fact that were all spectrum-y really made it harder to take him seriously.
“There you are, Sueño.” The voice chirped out, though instead of taking on a high pitch of the expected chirp, it was deeper and forced. Aileron’s wings caught her sight as he swooped down, each feather etching into her mind.
“It’s Gingi, thank you,” She replied with a irritated look; shaking her head to erase the winged image. Aileron, Aileron. The Lain tried to do anything he could to keep up and in with the ‘crowd’ and therefore he insisted on calling her Sueño along with the rest of the idiots. Dreamer, though, did suit her beyond thought; she was a sky dreamer. But the fact of being reminded of that simple fact every time her name was called annoyed her to no end.
“Given up on flying yet?” He snorted, ignoring her words. “Why even bother asking I suppose. Why you think that just some experiment like you could ever fly is beyond me.”
“Thanks Aileron, I love the encouragement.”
She turned around, swiping her tail through the air in discouragement. He was right, though, wasn’t he? She was just a…nobody. Just some mutated experiment that maybe resembled a cat; bulky and ugly; nothing that could ever even have the bone structure for the flying ability.
“Mad are you?”
“That’s what they tend to think,” she retorted back sarcastically, twisting around his meaning. “But I honestly don’t care, Aileron. Now fly along. You’re stupid friends are probably calling for you.”
“Fine. Be that way, dreamer,” he chuckled after her, making her dig her claws into the soil. “I was just going to suggest that perhaps instead of waiting for the impossible, you do the impossible.”
“What’s that supposed to—” She stopped short, her mind buzzing. Aileron just sent her a smirk, and stretched out his wings. A dip of his head was all he said in response, and before she could retaliate he was becoming a spec in the sky.
She dropped her notepad to the ground, and stared intently at is pages.
Wings.
She’d just have to make them.

Today I’ve decided to stop wishing and attempt the impossible. I will fly, don’t you worry. I will change the way things are going to work; and you will grow jealous of the time when I stop trying and actually succeed.

a star...
